Christos was AMAZING he to really took care of us along with watching him take care of the other guests. The other front desk personnel never even said hi nor tried to interact with us. Christos went above and beyond for us, adding more cleaner to the hot tub that was cloudy and gross, to the pizza that was 2 hours late telling the company to throw in dessert bc his guest were waiting too long with small children. Our room had tons of mold, the bathroom wallpaper was peeling due to it. Along with it all over the ceiling. This was our second spot in under 4hours so making this complaint to be moved again was just something I didn’t want to have to deal with.

Perfect place to stay!! Will be back!!

Overall the property is a little dated and could use some refreshing. The staff wasn’t that responsive. We asked for a few more hangers and never got them. We only stayed one night as we boarded a cruise ship the next day. Galveston in a busy shore town and the beach is walkable from this property.

Very comfortable and clean rooms with several amenities. Very kind staff and close to the sea wall

The location, coffee area was always clean and ready, the staff very friendly and ready to help, the pool was very nice, breakfast was fantastic. The rooms need more care, they are not getting clean properly, floor was dirty and surfaces dusty, and I had to request for a new set of sheets because they were not changed.

For a one night, it is not bad. However the Hotel looks very run down. Could use some upgrades and have better organization with breakfast in the mornings. Some of the walls in the rooms need some re-painting as well.

The hallways, had a strong stinky stench, the first room offered had crumbs on the floor, and hair in the bed linens. The room smelled wet.

The hotel smelled like mold and felt dirty. We thought it just might be on the first floor but it was even in our room. The night shift guy was not personable. But he did have our room key ready when we got there so it balanced out. The car port lights were half working and half not. Just made the property look less desirable. It was a good stay other than the wet/moldy smell.

nice breakfast area and lobby but not allot of options for breakfast but better then nothing rooms on 4th floor smelt like mold and mildew smell. BUT management kindly moved our rooms without a problem

We normally choose to stay at La Quinta's because they are usually clean, safe, smell great and have a great breakfast choice. Unfortunately, that is not the case with the Galveston La Quinta. We found that the hotel had a smell that resembled cat urine. I am not sure if the hotel has plans to renovate or just completed a renovation, but it is apparent that the hotel needs a few updates. My family was disappointed with the breakfast options as the selection of items were very slim as compared to other La Quinta hotel breakfasts we have experienced. In addition, the doors to the breakfast area closed at 9:00a.m SHARP so if you were still eating or needed additional condiments during this time, you were out of luck. I found the front desk night staff to be friendly. We decided that for the price we paid for our one night stay, we should have had a better experience especially since there are several other comparable hotels in the area with better rates and better experiences. I am not sure if this stay changes our view on the La Quinta chain as a whole, but I can guarantee that we will be exploring other hotel options when staying in Galveston.

Breakfast was good. I really had one big issue. The room they assigned me had a flood when I walked in. I literally walked in and there was a 6 foot long puddle from the ac unit. I immediately left the room and told the staff about the leak in my room. Their I tail response was, “Oh it’s not a big deal. Clean it up with some towels.” This is so wrong on so many levels. They could try to blame me for the leak, and also….. it’s not my job to clean up leaks I did not cause on vacation. This was very unprofessional. Ultimately, they did give me a new room. But I should not have had to argue for this. But since they did give me a new room, I am giving them three stars.
