Takunya Cave Hotel

Beautiful place. Great location. I had to search for the manager to do the check in,which happened 40 minutes after my arrival. The room needed maintenance. There was dust from the cave literally everywhere.

The room didn't have water. I arrived after 11pm, the owner gave me the key to the room without water, and I needed to shower. I called her 5 times, wrote to her son via WhatsApp and she didn't answer my calls nor he. I moved to the room next door that was already open and had a key inside the door to shower, I then moved my things and stayed in the room that had water. The next day instead of apologizing to me this psycho woman yelled at me and tried to charge me for two rooms. This was definitely done on purpose to scam me for my money. I started yelling at her back saying I will call the police, she then was quiet. I immediately left the property. DO NOT STAY THERE . THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!

Very good location, the room was big and beds were comfortable. The hotel page sayd they accept payment in Credit Card, the reservayion confirmation even says they donlt accept cash. Even though they inform that, I still sent a message to the hotel severalmdays before the trip that I would pay with credit card. Still, during the check in, the manager said she only accepted payment in cash, insiting we should look for an ATM machine. When I used google translator to inform her about what I wrote above ( info on Hotel Page and message sent), she aid the card machine was broken. Well, when I said I had no cash and would call Booking.com about it, she came up with a card machine form the neighbour hotel. After thatm, she didnlt look "very happy" everytime she saw us, The reservation had the check out as 11:30, but at 11:00, she was banging our door, telling us it was 11:00 and we hadn't done the check out yet. Very unpleasant bahaviour since the beggining. The room had no windows as advised in the reservation (we were aware of it when we booked), so it was quite warm inside and had a bad sewage smell.

Location is very good. The wifi does not work at all. I asked the owner but she just said hers worked so did nothing. The bathroom and room smells of sewage. Cash only. The shower is warm only briefly.

The host was very helpful and friendly and always on hand if we needed anything. The view from the terrace was great and the property was very clean and nicely decorated. We liked the cats too!! I didn’t check properly that the window in our room went to outside and I’m quite claustrophobic! So I’d recommend paying attention to that if you are too. Otherwise no issues and really enjoyed our stay :)

We had a beautiful view from the windows in our room of the balloons in the mornings. The room was gorgeous, very comfortable and clean. The owner was so lovely, we arrived early in the morning so she went and cleaned our room to allow us early check in.

The Hotel, the City.. I can not describe how wonderfull the whole trip and the experience was! I am coming back for sure! Takunya Cave is like 2 min. walk to the center, full of restaurants and shops and also 15 min walk to the view point with the baloons. The lady who manages the hotel is sooo nice and sweet. We could ask for anything. She made us tea, she cleaned the whole time. U can see the baloons also from the hotel,there is a wonderfull terrace. The View in the morning is just breathtaking(deluxe room).. all the baloons in the air.. you just wake up in Dreamland! Thank you!

It was novel sleeping inside a cave. The room was interesting and spacious. There was no ventilation and the room was always too hot and damp smelling. The pedistal fan did very little. This room needs some kind of ventilation otherwise its uncomfortable to sleep in during hotter months.

Amazing place, really nice rooms built from old stone, they have a great feel to them. Very spacious, clean, nice bathroom, fast wifi, great views out the window, friendly owner. I highly recommend it. A refrigerator in the room would useful.

Location, the host, the hotel (big house) is nice and clean Missing AC, moisture felt in room, the roof is crumbling I guess its inevitable (the room is the cave)

I took the hotel because it included breakfast, but it didn’t. And when I asked why that was she was not responsible for breakfast, she only accommodated(

The host was amazing and so helpful Booking.com said breakfast was included but the property doesn’t offer this though I don’t think this was a mistake of the hotels

The location is good, there are shops nearby and a wide variety of restaurants, shops, ATMs, etc. It has a terrace that, if it was taken care of, would have good potential. But all the hotels in the area have a good location so that doesn't make a difference (Personal experience) The hotel is family run, and it is evident that they lack a lot of training to treat their guests like a real hotel and not just customers or visitors. My payment had a problem and when I arrived at the hotel after a storm and arriving very wet, they made me stay at the reception until it was resolved and they didn't care that it was all wet. They lack a lot of customer service. The reception is unattended all the time, the mother of the family falls asleep in the reception chair and that is quite uncomfortable when you want to leave or enter the premises The mother is also in charge of cleaning the rooms, in general all the functions of the hotel are done by them and since they do not have trained personnel, EVERYTHING is slow and disorganized. The wifi is slow and lacks good coverage, only in certain areas of the "hotel" there is wifi. The room smells a lot of humidity and pipes, it would not be bad if they had extractors or ventilation to avoid those bad smells They say it includes breakfast and at no time do they serve it to you They establish 11:30 am as the maximum check out and at 11 the lady is already knocking on your door yelling "check out" in very bad taste. The sheets they use are from a house and not from a hotel, plus they are always full of dirt and not because of the theme of the hotel (cave hotel) but because they do not give the maintenance debit to avoid it. You wake up full of dirt in the eyes and suffocated since there is no type of ventilation (in the room I had) The price is cheap compared to the treasure but I would prefer that they charge more and that they hire trained personnel and not that it is managed by the family, that is fatal, I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL

Superb

The place in the heart centre of all Cappadoccia. Full of restaurants and alive city. Of course you need a car to move at your own. The host was very kind and showed us a place to park near the hotel since there is no private parking for the hotel. The breakfast is homemade and it was super delicious. If you are looking for Cave bedroom experience this is the right place, though I have to warn you that since it had only 1 door and no windows, the bedroom had little air circulation. We end up leaving the door open and the fan working as soon as we arrived the hotel every afternoon. It worked OK, but consider it gets hot and the fan will do some noise during the sleep. Anyway the host was helpful and the apartment was a great Cave bedroom experience. Everything was great apart that as I mentioned before that the bedroom that I got had no windows. Only 1 door. So it gets hot and little air circulation. Need a fan and open door to push the damp air outside. However we knew about this already since we read the reviews. We decided to give it a go for the Cave bedroom experience nonetheless.

The hotel is very beautifully designed and decorated. Staff is super friendly and helpful
