We stayed on the top floor and wow! Spacious, comfy, and a perfect place to relax. Incredible view as well. We stayed for two nights and unfortunately the weather was pretty poor. It rained the whole time and was super windy so we didn’t get to take the ropeway, which was the whole reason we chose this location. I’m glad we did though, because it was a great part of the city to stay in. The staff were so kind and accommodating. It felt like a special experience. The room was so large I felt like we had an entire house to ourselves. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever lucky enough to return. Really hard to find things to dislike about this place. Everything is a little dated, but it has character.

Nice staffs, big size room. It is located in a quiet convenient place , 7 mins walk to red brick, 700 meters to ropeway entrance. Afternoon tea time from 15:00 till 22:00 Nothing. I will stay again if I come Hakodate again.

It’s worth more than what you pay for.

Very nice room. Comfortable surroundings, good location.

The room was spacious. Two large beds with space for sofa and coffee table. There was also a hot stone bed which we did not use.

Nothing

Luckily we didn't have much, but getting here from the JR station with luggage can be difficult as the tram is only one car and there is a bit of a walk on each end.
-
Bigger coffee cups would've been nice but what is provided is standard for Japan
-
Nice sized room, better fit for foreigners who are used to more space. Staff is friendly! It's a bit of a walk if you want to be at the JR station, but the street car is a good option for 210 yen.

Though in term of facilities provided by the hotel are lacking e.g. onsen or onsite parking, its spacious room with a view of Hakodate ropeway, the room cleanliness and the staff who provided a friendly and excellent service with their prompt action to our requests have given me and my family an exceptional & enjoyable stay at Hakodate. And it is located close to hakodate ropeway and tram stop. A great location to walk around Motomachi area to see the churches & red brick warehouse. We are delighted to be able to see cherry blossoms and enjoy the local carnival at Hakodate Park that is walkable from the hotel.

Wonderful stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was friendly and responsive. Highly recommend! The bed was a little hard.
-
It has a nice cosy family-like feeling, and the staff are friendly. The room is generous sized. Though it is not right in the downtown area, it has a parking area and just 10 minutes to the waterfront and station.

Simple clean hotel providing value for money basic accommodation. Great free laundry service and a free massage chair! The decor is a little dated and the tea in reception area was not available in the morning.

This was the biggest hotel room I've ever had in Japan. I didn't even expect it to be that, I was very surprised when I first entered. Had an infrared-cabin built into the room. Massive main room with a large double-bed. AC and several heaters plus an air humidifier already in the room. Very comfy bed. Incredibly value. Location is not the greatest, bit of a walk to the tram station. Not a problem for me, but worth calling out.
