Great hosts Very basic but it was clean

The staff were friendly and helpful, they would go out of their way to help or assist. Beds were comfy with great quilts for warmth. Good location for bars and restaurants, also short walk to slopes. Breakfast could have more variety but OK

My 5-year-old kid and I just returned from the most wonderful 4-night stay at Hotel Sejour Mint. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. They offered pick up and drop off services from the JR train station or the bus stop. This took all the stress out of traveling with a little one and our luggage. The location is perfect. It’s an easy, walkable distance to the ski rental shops and the ski resort, which was so convenient. There is also a dry room for our ski gear. To top it off, they have a laundry machine available, which is a lifesaver on a family trip. In the hotel room, there's a USB charger on the bedside table, which makes charging the phone very convenient. The hospitality truly went above and beyond. Our host was incredibly kind. During a busy hour, he offered to drive us to the slope. It’s those little thoughtful gestures that made us feel so welcome. The hotel itself is very clean and has a wonderfully cosy environment. We looked forward to soaking in the onsen every single night after a day on the slopes. But the absolute highlight for our family was the dining experience. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and the food was fantastic. My daughter is a very picky eater, but even she absolutely loved the shabu shabu. The host went out of their way to make my daughter feel special. Every night, there was a different toy waiting for her in the dining table, which she was so excited about. Our host even offered her complimentary orange juice and ice-cream. It was such a sweet and unexpected gesture. While the host is very friendly, the staff running the hotel is a wonderful mix of young, energetic people from different places such as UK and France. They were all incredibly nice, helpful, and a joy to chat with after dinner. It felt like staying with friends. If you are looking for a stress-free, warm, and memorable ski holiday, book Hotel Sejour Mint. We were happy all the time!

The staff were friendly with warm hospitality. The service was excellent.

Management and staff were wonderful. Ski and ski boot room. I waited till the end of our month long ski trip before writing this review. Comparatively, our room was small and not well appointed for accommodating skiers with lots of ski clothing. No drawers, small closet, no shelves, barely enough room for suitcases. Not nearly as nice and more expensive than any other place we stayed in the Japanese Alps. Now I get it, it is Hakuba.

This is a fantastic hotel in Hakuba Goryu, located just outside the central Hakuba Valley. For us, that made all the difference. Location & Atmosphere Being slightly removed from central Hakuba meant a quieter, more relaxed stay. We appreciated the charm and quaintness of the area—something we didn’t quite find in the busier main village. Restaurant availability was also much easier, often without needing reservations. Ski Access Access to the slopes was excellent. We had Goryu, Hakuba 47, and Iimori right on our doorstep, which provided more than enough variety for our trip. Getting Around The trade-off of staying outside central Hakuba was transport. When we booked restaurants in the main village, taxis were around AUD $100 return, or alternatively, you could take the Hakuba bus, which can take some time. It’s worth factoring this in depending on your plans. The hotel does help arrange taxi's for you, but should you need to arrange it yourself, the taxi company's speak mostly English. Overall Experience Overall, the location suited us even better than central Hakuba. Our priority was family time, convenient skiing, and having a peaceful, comfortable hotel to return to each day—and this delivered on all fronts. The hot bath was fantastic after a day on the slopes. Laundry facilities were adequate, though limited. The atmosphere was friendly and intimate, making it easy to get to know other guests. Breakfast was excellent and a perfect way to start each morning. Most importantly, the staff were exceptional. When one of our children became unwell during our stay, they went above and beyond to help us. Their kindness and support made a stressful situation much easier, and we were genuinely grateful for the care they showed. The only minor downside was the laundry facilities. There was just one washing machine and one dryer for all guests, and the dryer took quite a long time to fully dry clothes. It wasn’t a major issue, but during peak times it did require some patience.

John and his team were amazing! So kind and helpful, great to chat to, and the breakfast they served was a lovely bonus to get us on the slopes early!

Loved everything about the hotel! We got picked up and dropped off to Hakuba Station and were accommodated by the lovely staff. They were always very helpful. The breakfast each morning was delicious and everything was easily accessible. We also loved that the slopes were around a 10 minute walk and it was right next to the place we rented snow gear. It was also walking distance to amazing restaurants and a lovely gift shop. Nothing

Beds are a bit on the hard side but noticed this is common in Japan so not a deal breaker.

We had an amazing stay at Sejour Mint and in the Junior Mint apartment and couldn't recommend it enough! The staff were all very kind and welcoming. Jon picked us up / dropped us off from the train station, making all travel run smoothly without needing to rent a car. The location was perfect within walking distance to the base of Goryu and to many cafes, restaurants and bars. We loved relaxing in the onsen after a long day of skiing, and our shabu shabu meal in the hotel restaurant was a highlight of the trip!
-
Truly welcoming atmosphere that really cares about the well-being and experience of guests. John is the man! Really appreciated receiving a complimentary ride service to a nearby destination when it was needed and the location right by the ski runs can't be beat for the price. Also no language barriers to have nice conversations if you're an English speaker. It's not the fanciest or most modern luxury resort but that should be known going in anyway, and the friendly staff community is well worth the experience with a warm local feel.

The hotel provided great breakfast every day and had complimentary water/tea/coffee/cocoa. It’s ran by the sweetest couple and all the staff are incredible! They will do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable and make sure you’re situated for the best ski trip ever!

Very friendly staff. Accommodating to coeliac guests.

Staff were incredibly caring and accommodating. Our children loved how special they were treated which also made our time more relaxing. Staff were very knowledgeable and helped us with lots of information. Ski passes were a great price and they helped us out with booking lessons and referring us to a store to hire equipment. It was a lovely relaxing place to stay. Would highly recommend.

Small hotel in right in the snow. Very helpful and friendly staff. We had a fantastic stay!

- Friendly Staff - Spacious Areas - Clean Rooms - Onsen on site - Good Access to Local Restaurant's The bus system in Hakuba, if you are an advanced skier/boarder I would recommend renting a car to get around to the other resorts. If you are a beginner, the 3 mountains nearby are great.

Our stay at Hotel Sejour Mint was one of the most inviting and homely experiences I’ve ever had. The facilities were excellent — exactly as advertised and spotlessly clean. The location was perfect for accessing the Hakuba Goyru Snow Field, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and the hotel offered affordable washing facilities and a relaxing onsen. Jon and his team went above and beyond — they picked us up upon arrival in Hakuba and even dropped us off at the bus stop when we checked out. I accidentally left my hat in Jon’s car, and once he realised, he drove back to the bus stop to make sure I got it back. We had the best time staying here, and I would highly recommend it to absolutely anyone. Nothing.

John was the most amazing host and the staff so accomodating to the last customers of a long season. Beds comfortable, room warm and beer cold. Location easy walking distance to skiing and restaurants- if you are in Hakuba Goryu you definitely need to spend a few days at Sejour Mint
