amazing host and felt like a home Nothing

Absolutely nothing.

One of the highlights is the breathtaking view of the mountains — waking up to that landscape every morning was simply unforgettable. The location is also perfect: peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet conveniently close to everything you might need, making it easy to explore the region. What truly made our experience unforgettable, though, were the hosts. They are an amazing couple — kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. As Brazilian tourists, we felt especially embraced by their hospitality. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, always ready to help with recommendations, directions, and thoughtful gestures that made us feel almost like family. Their warmth and generosity felt almost angelical. If you’re looking for a cozy, authentic Austrian experience with stunning mountain views, a great location, and hosts who truly care about their guests, this is the perfect place. We would return without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable and heartfelt stay.

Location was amazing, and it was easy to get to Halstatt from this bed and breakfast. Plenty of delicious options for us vegetarians and breakfast. Hosts went ABOVE AND BEYOND making us feel at home, comfortable, and informed about the local area. These folks are not only professional, they are kind, thoughtful and have a great sense of humor. Nothing comes to mind- I mean it.

Mark and Jane are very hospitable hosts, and you can tell from the details (beddings, mattresses, showers and the common area decorations) that they have taken much effort in making it a homely place. We spent some time in the common area in the morning, looking at the beautiful landscape through the viewing window. The breakfast was generous and sumptous as well! This B&B really sweetened our stay in Hallstatt.

This is our 2nd stay here. Mark and Jane are the best hosts,kind, engaging and very helpful!! The B and B is absolutely adorable and a great location for touring the small towns in the area.

Beautiful place with amazing owners

The view from our room was amazing. The breakfast was great and Jane's fresh baked goods were delicious.

The breakfast was delicious with a variety of food. I especially liked the coffee machine with the variety of choices. The view was amazing and the owners were so helpful with suggestions on what to do. We would definitely stay here again. nothing

Breakfast was varied and very tasty, with a different homemade cake each day. There was a wide selection of meats, cheeses, fruits, breads, and pastries. There is a dining room on site where you can sit in the evening with a cup of coffee or tea at no extra charge. The view from the room was simply breathtaking — the lake in all its glory, visible both from the window and from the huge balcony outside the room. Everything was very clean and smelled fresh, and there were also high-quality, pleasant soaps provided, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The owners were extremely nice and friendly, attentive to our needs, answered all our questions, and even helped us with local discounts. Don’t forget to ask for a guest card to get a discount on the Dachstein cable car. The only thing I would improve is to add small lights to illuminate the path from the parking area to the entrance door.

Everything was perfect. Beautiful clean room, wonderful location and amazing hosts. If you would like to visit Hallstatt and the lake I'd highly recommend Haus Salzkammergut!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming guest house in Obertraun. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with so much attention to detail that made our stay special. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, offering great tips for exploring the area. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, and we woke up each morning to breathtaking views of the mountains. It was the perfect base for discovering Hallstatt and the beautiful surroundings. We truly didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Pension/corridors/rooms were very clean. Apartmens are location ten minutes drive by car to parking in Hallstatt or fifteen minutes walk to lake in Obertraun. Breakfast was very good, rolls were fresh, everthings was enough for us. Mark is fantastic host, friendly and helpful. Nothing
