We had a wonderful two-night stay at Haus Salzkristall hosted by Thomas and Franziska. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect—our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. Thomas and Franziska were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The breakfast each morning was a highlight, with a variety of fresh and delicious options that gave us the perfect start to our day. We truly enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend their hospitality to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Lovely hosts

This is a family run boutique hotel and the hosts were truly wonderful making you welcome. You even get to taste their home made apple strudel. The location was only 4 km away from Hallstatt, actually away from the overnight parking costs of the town. Also, a great location for night sky watchers. Nothing. Easy highway access, good breakfast, comfortable bed.

It’s a very cozy space. Our room overlooked the lake, Obertraun and Hallstatt. The hosts were very kind and helpful and they provided a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful location. The couple that owns and operates this B&B (Thomas and Francesca) were lovely people. Excellent breakfast. Lots of fun outdoors activities.

The hosts are really what made this stay special! They were so friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure your stay was wonderful. The location was so peaceful, but a very close walk to the lake, the train station, bus station, and restaurants. The view from the room was dreamy - I loved sitting on the patio, reading with tea, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. I’m so grateful we stayed here instead of in busy Hallstatt.

Tom’s house is couple kilometers from Hallstatt but it is convenient by car. The house is very clean and comfortable. It is good for a short stay. Tom and his wife are very nice, taking good care of guests. They have several apple trees in the yard. The apple is sweet, crispy and juicy. Clean and comfortable

My son and I really enjoyed our stay at here. Check in was easy, great location to the town and the train, beautiful room and view. The hosts were friendly and helpful and provided a delicious breakfast. Loved the skylight in the room as well. Would definitely come back and highly recommend. Everything was amazing here.

Tom and Franziska were wonderful, suggesting restaurants and excursions. They also did everything that they could to help me find the Airpod that I somehow managed to lose in the bed. They promised to mail it to me if they found it. They also helped us dry our laundry on the balcony. Nothing

The hosts, Thomas and Franziska were very friendly, very helpful in suggesting restaurants, local sites to see, etc. The hotel was very clean, water pressure excellent, HOT shower, breakfast was very good and we enjoyed staying at their facility. Outside the room was an honor system for beverages (BEER!!!), tea, snacks, etc. My wife is very particular about hotels, particularly cleanliness and she was very, very pleased. You know the saying “Happy Wife, Happy Life”. We would strongly recommend Haus Salzkristall if you visit Hallstatt, Austria, they are across the lake in Obertraun, a short drive or you can take a boat there and back. No complaints of any kind. Was very happy with our choice to stay at Haus Salzkristall and our time spent both in Obertraun by the lake and site seeing in Hallstatt.

Great place to stay just a few minutes away from Halsttat. Super calm. The owners are really kind and helpful. The rooms were sparkling clean and with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious and with a variety of goods. Amazing view from the bedroom. I highly recommend it. Parking available on the premise.

Absolutely perfect location, so calm and peaceful. The hosts are just lovely - incredibly helpful and friendly. And a special big thank you for that little prosecco on my birthday! That was such a lovely and unexpected treat. I'm so happy I chose this hotel for my holiday.
