The location is great if you want to be close to shopping and the park. Everything was within walking distance. The rooms are very dated. The hotel has little to no facilities. The front desk staff were among the least friendly people we encountered throughout our entire stay in Hong Kong. At first, we assumed it was cultural but soon met very friendly people at countless other places we visited. Other than checking in and out, we did our best to avoid interacting with the front desk staff, as the encounters were incredibly frustrating. Throughout the hotel, there were displays of teas and cookies for sale, for charity. When we attempted to purchase some, we were directed to the front desk. Of the four people at the counter, only one person looked up and oddly she had no clue on how to sell them. It took 20 minutes of standing there for the staff to figure it out, only to be asked to pay for it and have it delivered to the room. Then after 30 more minutes, the staff called our room to ask if it had been delivered. It had not. It was comical. You could not step more than 3 feet in any direction without seeing a display of these items for sale. Had it not been for charity, we would not have bothered. This hotel is a 2 or 3 star at best. The location is its best feature.

Overall we had an excellent stay. Located in a good area with lots of shops and restaurants and walkable to Times Square although we didn't make it there. It was fun just wandering around the streets finding the different shops. Din Tai Fung is literally 10 ft out the door in an enclosed mall. They do takeout for back in the room if you're exhausted like we were. Housekeeping was really nice to deliver a bottle opener and ice to the room since we'd bought a beer at Din Tai Fung with no way to open it. We had a family size room for two and it was a very nice size with a small couch that could be made into a single bed for a third person. The staff are all really nice and accomodating. Check in moved quickly even though there were about 10 people in line. The staff took the luggage and coats right away and put them all together for delivery to the room after you were checked in. Our second night we got back to the hotel at 10:00 pm and luckily found a really good restaurant called Fu Wah Cafe catty corner across the street from the hotel still open. They stay open until midnight. Look for it if you are out late. They only take cash or credit cards for us but they also accepted WeChat HK. We used Uber to go to the top of Victoria Peak (interesting ride getting to see the houses and view vs the tram). We meant to take the tram but the driver accepted the ride going to the Peak and took us up it vs the tram. We took the tram on the way down. Go to the Temple St Night Market for some fun night shopping. Open from 4:00 to midnight. Most vendors accepted Apple Pay, some didn't and had us go to an office where he accepted credit cards and some vendors only wanted cash but they were few. We did our whole 10 trip to China without getting any cash. WeChat Pay, AliPay, Apple Pay, and credit cards. WeChat Pay and AliPay China version didn't work in HK. The closet light stayed on all night and I could find no way to turn it off. Closed the doors but still light crept through. The electrical outlets by the beds turned off when the lights were turned off so our phones didn't charge and we didn't discover that until the next morning. Across the room we found outlets that could be turned to on to keep charging in the night but this was an inconvenience. One large glass bottle of water in the room was $13 USD if you used it. So grab some bottled water for the room while you're out. There was a filtered water faucet in the bathroom for use in the kettle. No handtowels, just two facecloths and two bathtowels which was the opposite of what I was expecting. We did have three bath towels and three facecloths when we arrived but the cleaning person caught onto the fact that only two people were there and only left two bath towels and two facecloths then. When we made reservations for the hotel in March I was given a 100 HKD voucher to spend in the hotel restaurant but it expired at the end of March and we didn't travel until November so what's the point in giving a voucher that expires before you get there? When I emailed the hotel regarding it (in March) they just said Sorry.
