Castle at Waikīkī Grand

The room wasn't the same as the one I saw in the photos.

You get what you pay for. It was cheaper but I wish I would have rented some place else.

No instructions for check in were received. Apparently if you book the rooms with the terrace it's with a private owner. The deck closes at 10pm so you can't even enjoy it when you want. So the check in desk will refer you to call a number for instructions. The room itself was in very poor conditions. The bed mattresses look like they had mold on them, probably because the air conditioner leaks water if you don't pay attention to it (also no instructions received for this). The room is still hot because you can't leave the AC running all day. I had 3 nights booked could only endure 2 and had to check out earlier.

I tried to call the hotel early to ask if I could check in early, only to find out they do not get phone calls, and I had to leave a message. The result? I got a vague text message that did not really answer my question. Overall, where the location of the hotel is nice, the staff were amazing, but the hotel was outdated and is not maintained very well. I found a ball of pet hair on my room floor, a dead moth carcass in the couch, the hot water BARELY worked & the metal on the shower was grimy. To our surprise there was construction going on so most of the days we had to hear loud noises, which was not very relaxing. Thanks to the staff that was the best part of it all, they were very welcoming and helpful.

It an interesting stay the first room I got was perfect but my booking got messed up so we where placed in a last minute room which wasn’t good or safe at all the room my husband and newborn daughter where placed in had broken glass and wasn’t cleaned and wasn’t maintained at all. The second room they placed us in after geting a change was better. The manager was very helpful. I felt bad complaining but I wasn’t going to allow my daughter to get hurt in the room. My mom’s room was absolutely amazing clean beautiful decorated and felt homie. Our was a place to sleep at that point so we would sleep then go to our moms room to cook and hang out. Overall it wasn’t an awful experience as we got to be in Hawaii just disappointed in how much I spent cause it wasn’t worth what we got due to room conditions. My biggest complaint was House keeping didn’t come clean our room I contacted the manager and I had to go get my own stuff and take the dirty ones up to there storage room. Otherwise it wasn’t that bad

Appliances dirty No water all week between 8am and 5pm due to repairs Reception, floors, walls, elevators, ceilings all under constructions, we were not told when making reservation... very unfair and non professional on this Workers and personnel nice and helpful Locatio. Unbelievable A great place one it is not longer rundown. I will love to co.e again when all fixes are done.

No water from 8-5 the room was not clean moldy the bed was not the size I had booked overall I don’t recommend this place

The room was filthy upon arrival and was very dirty with stuff. Before that I was lied to when I was checking in regarding a cleaning fee. Nothing was mentioned about that when I booked the room. I was also lied to about checking in when the hotel room was not available that I reserved for and paid in full when I booked the hotel room. The hotel employee said that I needed to speak with the third party to confirm my booking. It took over 4 hours for me to get a confirmation from them to be able to get access to my room.

The room was terrible. The window was broken, pushed out and attempted to be put back together with duck tape that failed horribly. We heard everything like we was outside with the noise. All day and all night. 2 blinds only went half down.

Dont stay here they aren’t attentive, elevators were broken, didn’t bring any towels even when requested. Overall a TERRIBLE experience!

Loved the lanai and the ice machine right out my door. Every morning was spent sitting on the lanai drinking my coffee watching the surfers and the waves crash. Amazing views.

Excellent location. Although not beachfront, I could see the ocean well enough. Friendly staff. Bed was comfortable. Free standing AC unit worked well. Beach gear provided. Room needed a deep clean and some sprucing up. Ironing board was broken. Microwave was broken. Poor Water Pressure. Inside of cupboards were sticky. Table on the patio was trash. The kitchenware and decor were old, cheap and mismatched. (Could get better replacements at the Dollar store or a garage sale.) Balcony only as wide as a small folding chair, so maneuvering out there was tricky.

Having a kitchen was very convenient for us. Room felt like a good size for 2. Location of hotel was very close to local activities in Wakiki. Bed was very comfy and kitchen was good size for size of room. Also provided beach towels, umbrella and mat. Shower was a good size although water was a little finicky without us touching knobs. Patio was also good size with comfy chairs for looking even though view wasn't great. The ac in our room was set to the lowest temp setting and highest fan setting and room didn't get below prob 77. Was very very hot the whole time in room. Also staff doesn't provide new towels or check on room until you check out which can go both way honestly. I also had problems checking in. My original room wasn't ready at 2:15 and they told me it would be ready by 3 but ended up transferring me rooms to be right above the bar which could be heard from our room in certain spots. Also the curtains weren't dark enough so the lights from the other side of hotel shines right in our room. Curtains were covered in dirt at bottom like never been washed and was also what looked like old blood on curtain.

Our coffee pot was broken and I couldn’t get a hold of them for another one the whole visit. It is absolutely worth spending a little more money for a better place. This was only slightly cheaper than other hotels and I couldn’t believe the state the room was in. Additionally, the window opened all of the way with no screen, on the 6th floor so keep in mind if you’re staying with children.
