It was an antique hotel literally. The staff was so great and breakfast was delicious. I wish we were supplied with cold water bottles instead of glass refillable filtered water. The location of the hotel was very difficult to find and the side alley it was located on was too narrow for a car so we had to walk down the alley way with our luggage. The towels and linens need a refresh.

Great family hotel with very kind staff. In a quiet alley, but located close to the Imperial City. Several local food, shops, cafes within walking distance. They were nice enough to let us check in early after we arrived sooner than expected due to our travel plans changing.
-
Clean and within walking distance to imperial citadel ..shops and restaurants If travel with too much or too heavy luggage.. would have hard time to get up and down stairs. The inn staff will do their best to help though. Larger vehicles would not make it through the alley way. Most Grabs will only drop you off at the nearest Main Street and ask you to walk the short remaining way yourself

It was centrally located and very close to the Imperial Palace. The Inn has a very traditional feel to it with koi and traditional breakfast. The staff speaks some English and is very helpful with a big smile.

This small and cosy hotel is good value for money and in perfect location for visiting the Citadel. It had everything we needed for a short stay. Comfortable bed, clean room, free water in the room, toiletries, breakfast is simple but ok. We were greeted by an English speaking receptionist upon arrival but the rest of the staff did not speak English, however were all polite and courteous. We had to use Google translate to communicate, but it’s common in Vietnam. It is a nice and quiet area but not nearly enough places to eat nearby, we had to get a taxi for lunch and dinner to go to the other side of the river. There are two flights of stairs to go to our rooms and no lift, no one helps with bags which was ok for us but I imagine not suitable for the elderly. The TV was not working but still possible to watch YouTube. Pay in advance if possible as when you want to pay at the hotel by a card they charge extra 3% for that, which was unexpected. Since the hotel is not expensive all these are minor issues.

Friendly staff and great location. The whole place could use a good scrub. The tile floors are dingy, and the grout in the shower was black.

Comfy bed and good shower. Friendly staff who always mean well. Staff had VERY limited English even when enquiring about standard hotel requests. The room was musty and had signs of mould on many of the walls (see pictures). These really need a proper clean and a dehumidifier is required as the room itself was very humid. Breakfast options were limited. We were able to leave our luggage during the day at the hotel, but it was not stored in any secure location.

Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotels we stayed at in Vietnam. When we woke up in the morning, there was a clear ventilation issue—our room was covered in a thin layer of water, and all our clothes had developed a musty smell. When we mentioned it to the staff, there was little to no reaction, which was quite disappointing. Communication with some of the staff was also difficult. We had to ask ourselves for breakfast. Room had a window looking at the reception, not really giving privacy. On a positive note, the shower and breakfast was very good and the location is close to the northern gate of the citadel.

The bed was so confortable and the pillow just the right size, that we finally managed to have a good sleep. Its near the main sightseeing place as well as cosy local food streets. The breakfast included a few options and we choose a pho soup.

Great location inside the Citadel walls; highly recommend staying in the old walls for your stay in Hue. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and the WiFI worked well. Staff was friendly and helpful and they helped us arrange train tickets to our next destination plus a private car to get us to the train station, all of which was handled really efficiently and at a reasonable price. Several choices for breakfast, all of which were good. Rooms are a bit dated and musty; we left the A/C on "dry" most of the time. There are heavy curtains on the windows facing outdoors and toward the internal courtyard, but inexplicably there is a a separate window in the door, behind which are the hall lights that are on all night, and for which there is no window covering. So, once you turn lights out and close the curtains, you still have light shining straight into the room directly facing one of the beds. Thankfully there were two beds so we slept in the other one and used sleep masks...a very odd design choice.

I highly recommend Hue 1962 INN! Our stay has been lovely! Our plane had a delay of 6 hours and we arrived at 2am - the hosts waited for us and instantly made us feel at home and have been the kindest hosts for the whole time we spent there. They anticipated our needs and we didn’t have to ask for anything. Our room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I loved the place itself too: cozy, elegant and charming. I wish I could stay longer! Also, the location is perfect for visiting the citadel. Not a big deal given the high temperatures in Hue, but the shower water was not hot. Maybe the boiler was switched off or wasn't working properly.

Located in a quite street near local coffee shops and restaurants. The room we got was spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The staff is nice. Small hotel with only 8 rooms and various areas for the guests to use. We really enjoyed the stay there and recommend this spot if you are interested to be closer to local shops and the citadel.
