North Point

nothing whatsoever.. not with the service nor with the empathy nor with booking.com there were insects / bugs in the room and my daughter had to call me up traumatised as she as staying in the room. there was no service staff nor anyone to help her and i had to get my sister and her husband to rush over to calm her down and subsequently move her to where my sister was staying for the duration of her trip. i reached out to booking.com and there was naught they could do and the property did not even offer any token of refund. i paid over 2000 for the stay but my daughter did not even stay a single night. all the customer service at booking.com could do was to give me textbook replies and the property was all self justified in saying there were naught insects when we obviously took a photo of one such insect. harmless or not, to my 16yr old daughter it was pretty frightening. but i guess those bug corporations simply do not care. i would never stay / book at that property again and i would think not twice but thrice in using booking.com in the near future.

Aiden and Anna were the best hosts and made us a lovely breakfast every morning, which we ate in a fun communal breakfast room with other guests. The hostel overall was really comfortable and it was so nice to stay there for the week. There is an awesome warm room where you can leave all your ski stuff at the end of the day so it's nice and toasty for you the next day heading out. We appreciated the free washer and dryer, loved the shower rooms, and even got to make use of the tv room for a night of lounging. The location of this place is super ideal to walk around town in the evenings looking for food and bars, of which there are many excellent choices. Our bed here was the comfiest of our entire trip through Japan and we were so cozy in our room with the heated floors. 10/10 definitely stay here! Literally nothing to complain about, we loved it here

Anna and Aiden were excellent hosts. The Lodge was clean, warm and comfortable. Cosy beds and fabulous hot showers!. Ample breakfast was provided with a delicious home cooked hot option. We were fortunate to have a car, but I believe the Lodge mini bus and the resort Shuttle services worked well for other guests. Great value for money, lovely place to stay. Would highly recommend. The breakfast was the best free breakfast I had at a hostel. I didn't know we had a free shuttle to the ski lifts so that was a plus as well. David and Ellie were fantastic hosts. They went out of their way to answer my basic questions and also to help me ship my snowboarding gear using a luggage service. The quality of service they offered is the main reason I would recommend staying here. the walls are a bit thin. People were respectful but everyone is getting up around the same time just based on noise.

The hosts David and Elle were amazing and super friendly, and additional (highly appreciated) services wre to be shuttled to the ski lifts everyday as well as pick up from bus on arrival and delivery to train station on departure day. The breakfast was great, just what we liked and offering warm options every day. The communal area was nice and cozy, and allowed us to hang out there whenever we pleased. The shared bath was spacious and felt very new, and even had a bathtub. Great set up for ski gear and drying of thus. The house is old and walls are thin (you can hear the next room neighbours talking), and there is mold in the walls which adds a smell to the experience which needs washing out when home.

Nice place to stay couple of days in a « chalet type » house! Great to share good times in the common room! Comfortable and well located - despite a 15min uphill walk to the skiing area, there is a free shuttle service from the hosts in the morning and it’s perfect ! Nothing - but just want to notify there is no noise isolation with other bedrooms. So you must have luck like us with very respectful guests.

Great location, just 10 minute walk to Grand Hirafu central bit of shops and restaurants. David and Elle are great hosts, always so kind and helpful, they made us fantastic breakfast every morning and drove shuttle up to the mountain. Walk back from ski field to accommodation was just around 10 minutes. Accommodation was always clean and warm, perfect place for ski holidays!

It’s quiet, personal, friendly. The place wasn’t clean, dinning tables, floor, couch in sitting area not once straightened or clean, TV room was messy- old TV on floor and old dvd player along with other electronics on couch the whole time we stayed. The hosts were very pleasant, however we felt they could have been more pro active and offered more assistance and service.

Elle and David are legends! Had a fabulous stay with them, very welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast in the morning! Such a nice atmosphere in lodge! Good location as well super convenient for mountain access!
