d="58394"}I had a wonderful stay at Shiki Suites Kyoto Umekoji and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. The room was exactly as advertised on the website, which is something I truly appreciated. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything I needed during my stay. Although there was no washing machine or dryer inside the room, the hotel provides complimentary laundry facilities on the third floor, including free laundry detergent for guests, which was extremely convenient. The location is also excellent. Kyoto Station is only about a 5-minute walk away if you walk at a brisk pace, and there is a 7-Eleven conveniently located near the bus stop that I frequently used during my stay. What impressed me most, however, was the outstanding service provided by one of the staff members. I stayed at the hotel twice during this trip, as I spent one night in Ine before returning to Kyoto. I needed a place to store my large luggage overnight between stays. Normally, the hotel does not offer overnight luggage storage because of limited office space, which is completely understandable. However, one of the male staff members from Nepal (I unfortunately do not remember his name) went above and beyond to help me. Instead of simply declining my request, he took the time to check whether there was enough space available and kindly arranged for my luggage to be stored. His willingness to help made my trip significantly more convenient and stress-free. Thank you to him and the entire team for their hospitality. Experiences like this make a real difference to travelers, and his kindness made my journey much easier. It was one of the highlights of my stay in Kyoto, and I would gladly stay at Shiki Suites Kyoto Umekoji again on my next visit. Highly recommended One small area for improvement would be the smell of cigarette smoke that occasionally drifted into the room or common areas. Although the hotel is a non-smoking property and smoking is not permitted inside the rooms, there were times when the smell was quite noticeable. I understand that this may have come from outside the building or from other guests, but it was the only aspect of my stay that slightly affected the overall experience.

That level of care and customer service is something travelers truly appreciate. Thank you to him and the entire team for their hospitality and professionalism. Experiences like this make a real difference and create lasting memories for guests. The only minor drawback during my stay was that I occasionally noticed a cigarette smell, despite the hotel’s non-smoking policy. I understand that this may be difficult for the hotel to fully control, but I hope it is something that can be monitored as it would further enhance a therwise excellent guest experience.

On a lovely quiet street a few blocks away from Kyoto Station. Great layout of the suite - worked really well for us and our young adult son who was able to sleep on the sofa bed in a different space than us. The bathroom was stylish and roomy. Really appreciated having access to a laundry room with two washing machines and one dryer on the same level as our suite. A significant amount of condensation built up on the walls and windows during our stay.

staff very friendly and helpful. free washing machine and dryer. however dryer is not very powerful for actually drying clothes. best is to use dryer for a while and then hang up clothes

Price, Friendly Staff, Clean room Hotel unable to transfer luggage to next hotel

This lance was central to lots of the places to visit and transportation. It was also in a really quiet area which we loved. The rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable! It was also nice to leave our luggage for a bit after check out.

On arrival the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, softly spoken and helpful. The location was very close to the mall which was an easy walk, a little bit further to the station but we did manage with our suitcases. No laundry in the room but we were allowed to use the washing machine & dryer on the floor we were on. There was a lift to our floor which was so helpful. Everything was quite small, as in reception area, lift to get to our floor, corridor and our room. Our room was for 2 adults & 2 children (they shared the foldout couch). The couch prevented full access to the kitchenette (fridge didnt open fully & hard to get to sink while the couch was made up as a bed). Absolutely no room for suitcases (unless on the bed to open, then close, then put back on the floor zipped up). Unfortunately all of our beds were incredibly hard.

This was about a 10 minute walk from the central station. It was easy for us to navigate with our small suitcases. Sm kitchen with microwave made it easy for us for fixing quick meals There is not a lot of space for storing clothes (1-rack) if you are using both sides as bedrooms.

Close to train station and amenities. Liked that there was a living room and bedroom area. The beds are pretty uncomfortable. There should be grab bars around the tub.
-
Lovely staff and nice, clean rooms. A great restaurant attached to the hotel.
-
Nice suites, close to some amazing restaurants. Staff were lovely
-
Lovely room with a separate lounge area, perfect for relaxing after a whole day visiting various temples and shrines. Love the fact that it’s a low rise building with a family atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful and there amazing restaurants serving delicious home cooked meals close by. Nothing. Everything was spot on.
