Really good location for taking the bus or train. The place was clean, and the reception staff were lovely and very helpful. There were also lots of posters with QR codes that made it easy to find useful information about the city, such as nearby laundromats and other services. The cleaning staff (I think they were volunteers) in my room were very noisy in the evening. Although quiet hours started at 11:00 pm, they continued making noise, and one night they were even singing in the room at around midnight. I was the only one trying to sleep because I had a train at 7:00 am.

A little far from places but overall good for the money

The night light on the bed i was assigned to was a little dim to see anything and the heater was really warm at night. But these are not big issues.

Nice stay, I would come back.

Super cozy, I didn’t stay long enough to socialize much but everyone was very nice, shower pressure was really nice (and so was provided body wash/shampoo/conditioner) I liked it a lot. Thank you for having me!

Clean and connivence. People I met here all friendly and nice. One JR station from Tokyo station. Really easy to find and one 7-11 on the corner. Also have coffee shop can buy hot set for breakfast. Near JR station is a big garden. Also have many buses route can choose. Not that so noise. The PIN code door not near the road, follow google map to there will go the other door. Luck that day have a guy in lobby. So better make a sign on the door near the road.

Clean. Family style. Too tiny. Beds too small too lower to each other.

Good location, but right next to train tracks, maybe use earplugs. 7-11 and a good cafe and other restaurants very close. Owner is friendly. Nice rooftop area. Common area/kitchen is small.

Also good rooms and facilities

Staff Common areas to close to the dorms, which made it difficult to sleep

Close to train station and bus stop Small not too clean kitchen, hard to use, no place to sit and eat, limited seating in kitchen area ; no place to work, like a real table w outlets nearby except first floor by windows, counter cluttered w appliances, papers, misc; kitchen on third level after going through 2nd floor and outside fire escape stairs; noise in hallways after midnight w people going from roof to down to first floor, then smoking out front where noise and smoke goes through windows upstairs. Surprisingly, I thought being next to the train tracks was going to be too noisy, but it was okay, as there were no train horns, nor stopping; they rushed past quickly. Thin walls between rooms, enough to hear conversations, snoring!

One stop from Kyoto station (this does mean you can hear the train lines but they’re not too frequent through the night) Very comfy beds Enough toilets and showers Lockers in the reception area for valuables (small, 1000 yen deposit) Very well equipped kitchen Roof views Very friendly and helpful staff A general lovely friendly vibe in the hostel Excellent water pressure in the shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash If you’re in room E you do have the short straw as it’s next to the comunal area and also facing the train tracks. The first night, there was quite a bit of noise from the communal area late on (there were no signs to say to be quiet from a certain time). I mentioned this the next day to the front desk to see if we could move rooms, and they were so helpful. There were no rooms we could move to, but they said that after 11pm it should be quiet in the communal area upstairs (there is also a communal area on the ground floor not near rooms also), and after this we were able to sleep fine. The boss was also keen to make sure we could sleep ok.
