The design was great and the lady welcomed us warmly It’s hard to bring your luggage upstairs

The location is great and the host was lovely. We were given matcha and snacks on arrival which was so nice. The place is absolutely stunning, we especially loved the open air bath!

Clean, cozy, and convenient. Easy access to everything Kyoto has to offer. Quiet. Private outdoor onsen is devine. We loved our stay here. The breakfast option was challenging for the kids. Not at all the fault of the hosts but something to be aware of.

Hotel charges extra for each person staying at the hotel.

This was a superb location for getting out and about in Kyoto. Close to an excellent bus route and subway system. Not far from the Gion area and close to many of the key Kyoto sights. The property was in a quiet area but had all immunities a 50-100m walk away. The property itself had some lovely design features, including excellent bathroom facilities, a very comfortable kingsize bed and great use of space. Although the kitchen facilities were more than adequate for our needs, it would be harder to stay in and cook meals for a family.

An interesting and cozy interior design, excellent bathroom and kitchen amenities, a fantastic outdoor onsen, and very comfortable beds and futons. And, of course, the staff who will make your stay truly unforgettable!

Loved the house and its facilities. Also staff and owner were very friendly and kind. Made up with a refund and gift for the issues we had with check in. We have recommended it to many friends. Very nice house with all facilities but price is on the very high side.

We loved this property; the master bedroom is beautiful and the story behind the property adds intrigue. Another another highlight was the stunning outdoor bath and the clear floor upstairs. The check in process was so welcoming and encapsulated the Japanese traditions of tea drinking. We highly recommend the breakfast as we enjoyed exploring a traditional Japanese breakfast. It’s a small walk (1km) from the main district. We ended up using taxis to go to dinner as we had two small children with us which only cos ¥800

We loved it. The kids were okay eating it for 1 day, A different option for breakfast that would appeal to kids
-
The authenticity N.A. Perhaps we could have done with bigger plates as we ate breakfast in the Machiya.

A lovely, fancy place to stay! Comfortable and so pretty, with a gorgeous private onsen! Lots of nice amenities provided too, including tea, towels, toothbrushes etc. The lovely woman running the place welcomed us with matcha latte and cake! The open air onsen was so beautiful but it did affect the insulation a little so it was a bit tricky to keep the place really warm. They do have AC though! We didn’t see much of the owner after our delightful welcome but if you don’t need much help that can sometimes be a plus haha.

Wonderful, friendly host. She welcomed us with tea and treats. Spoke fluent English as well!
