Friendly staff, spacious room and quiet environment.

Old bldg and plumbing odor in the toilet.

All the young staff were super friendly! I initially wondered why they wanted the keys left at the front, but it’s so they come in and tidy the room - which was very nice! The futon was comfortable and we slept well. I forgot to book the Kaiseki, so I can’t comment. The onsen was very nice and quite charming! Great location, close to Nishiki market and Daimaru shopping center. The samurai ninja museum is very close and a good history lesson, although our guide obviously hated his job.? I do recommend going to Common Well down the street for their excellent healthy breakfast and very tasty lattes. Our room has a bit of a musky odour. I also felt the entire property could use a deep clean and if they fixed it up a bit they could go to a 4 star inn.

Onsen and friendly staff

The food was absolutely incredible. I had some other bucket list restaurants for Kyoto but the chef onsite is amazing and I did not feel like I was missing out at all. Kaiseki dinner upon arrival, Japanese breakfast each day. Honestly, it's the kind of meals that you'd wait in line/make advanced reservations. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. They used Google translate, and when they realized my name was Vietnamese, they tapped one of their Vietnamese staff to see if she could better service me (which worked well because I do speak Vietnamese as well!) And the private onsen onsite was so nice, I know there were a lot of guests but somehow I always got the onsen to myself for the most part! I'm saving this to stay in the future, and hopefully bring friends and family! Honestly, there's nothing that I didn't like!

Dinner and breakfast was excellent!!!

I really enjoyed the public bath and the staff were super super kind and helpful. They also offered us free food every single day and had every amenity we could need inside the room. They also gave us traditional clothing that we could wear if we wanted to and overall, it was an amazing experience. The bathrooms were a little bit on the smaller side but it was not a problem for us!

The hotel is nice and cozy. About the breakfast, can’t book it even though it stated there that you can pay for breakfast at the property.

Everything was so lovely! The onsen was fantastic, the dinner each night was great, so many courses and different flavours to try. The location was excellent - super close to Nishiki market! Nothing

What a wonderful experience felt like a princess. They treated me like royalty. Public bath was clean and very relaxing. Staff was above and beyond helpful.

Staff were very friendly and kind. They accommodated us with serving us a lovely and delicious dinner in our room. The hotel is very central to the train station and the famous Nishiki market. The onsen is good and clean. The room is big and in tatami style and things are very neatly presented in traditional Japanese style. Ladies have a choice of wearing different styles of Yukata which is so beautiful ?. Nothing. Everything was great.
