Breakfast was great, location was great, staff was very accommodating for me as someone who only speaks English. Really no complaints at all. I had a wonderful experience and would recommend it. I found that I was very hot during the night, and probably could have used solely a sheet instead of the heavy duvet, since I was sleeping a bit away from the AC.

A quiet oasis tuck in part of Kyoto that is bustling and close to all the major activities. Wish the onsens were bigger. If more than one person was using the onsen, it would feel quite cramped.

Beautiful property, very central location. Staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous especially the manager. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. I wish we had some choice on our breakfast. As they only offer Japanese.

Charming, authentic, cozy accommodations with kind staff and wonderful food. Excellent location for exploring the sites. Larger slippers for Western feet would be helpful.

The stairs are a little steep and there are two types of indoor shoes you have to switch between at separate staircases. Geta for on the first floor and slippers for upstairs. They were very kind about it, but we were a little concerned about making a mistake.

It was a ryokan, so as expected....very clean, peaceful, great service. Even though we were in a busy location, the inn was very peaceful...wonderful to step into after a busy day sightseeing. Location was excellent, walkable to almost everything we wanted to see and do. The staff went above and beyond to help with anything we needed. The breakfasts were amazing. I found that multiple days in a ryokan (seating limited and on the floor) was a bit difficult on my knees and back, but that is typical for traditional Japanese lodging.

Keep in mind that the tub/shower area is made of wood. This isn't a problem per se - it was furnished very nicely! But it's an adjustment if you're not used to it. I couldn't get hot water running in the bathtub.

Amazingly friendly staff, great service, phenomenal breakfast, beautiful atmosphere. Shared bath was quite shallow, but the private bath more than made up for that.

Japanese traditional inn with impressive hospitality and impeccable breakfast. The in-room bathroom was quite small, but we could use the common bath room.

Delicious breakfast, lovely room and ryokan courtyard and restaurant. All of it was fantastic and very authentic. The onsen was also very relaxing and a highlight. Everything was great. The only minor thing was that the room did have some noise from the nearby busy road. This didn’t cause issues for us though.
