Great location near great restaurants and shops in Gion. Short walk to the metro and close go nearby temples and cultural sites. Hotel is clean. Rooms are compact but well appointed. Very good breakfast. There is a Starbucks and a desert shop located in the premises. Nothing other than compact rooms - but that’s standard at many hotels in Japan.

The hotel is situated in a great location with lots of restaurants and souvenir shops around. There is a Starbucks at the ground floor. The breakfast spread is the best we had in Japan. Truly a wonderful experience. The check-out time is 10 am instead of 11 am, which is the norm for most hotels in Japan. We overlooked this detail, and the hotel charged us 1000 yen as a fine for 1 hr overstay. This somewhat dampened the otherwise wonderful stay.

Enjoyed the location of this property. Very close to many shops and lots of food. Amenities were great and the rooms were a good size. One small elevator up and down. Can get busy but not a big deal!

The hotel was great. It had what we wanted. The best part of the hotel is the location in Gion. It is in the middle of the most wonderful parts of Kyoto. You won't go wrong with this hotel!

Location was good if you really want to be near where you can watch for Geisha in evenings and can't find anywhere else. The young man at front desk when I came back at 3pm was rude compared to the other young man that was working earlier and the woman that was there when I checked out and to any other front desk person I've encountered on my multiple hotel stays around Japan last October and the 2 weeks during this vacation 3/31 - 4/13 He also gave me wrong information on my request for luggage forwarding which caused me to stress about not getting our luggage in Haneda in time.

The location was very central with a short walk to basically everything. Very easy to find and check in. Trains and buses were at our doorstep and using the preloaded Suica card on our phones made it even easier to get around. The rooms were a decent size and clean and bed was very comfy. There was also a laundry in the hotel which was pretty cheap too. Lots of convenience stores 2 mins walk and a was a short stroll to where are the main shops were, on the same street. We were 2 streets from Geisha Street too with all the nice restaurants. All in all would definitely stay again. Location was a plus as was the lift and laundry at the hotel. Checking into the hotel was quick and easy. Loads of places for breakfast with a Starbucks located on the bottom floor, that was a plus+

Fantastic location! There were a lot of places that were walking distance like restaurants, points of interest and bars. The breakfast was fantastic. My favorite eggs! There was also a Starbucks at the bottom of the hotel which was a nice touch. The staff was great Nothing

Location was excellent to visit Yasaka Jinja and Maruyama Koen during sakura season. Also very convenient to other Higashiyama temples and shrines like Kiyomizudera. I have been staying at this property for over 40 years and never had a problem but I think access to floors with hotel rooms should be more secure.

Very great 3 star hotel. It is small as the most/all properties in Japan but it was clean, fresh towels every day and some extra small accessories. Great location, Starbucks on the first floor that was very helpful in the morning.

Location Anyone off the street has access to hotel guest floors. No key card needed for elevator. Probably not the safest idea.

Great location and walkable in the Gion area. I was nervous after reading reviews on Google Maps, but we didn’t experience any of the negative issues people stated. We enjoyed the Starbucks located on the ground level. The room is a little small by western standards, but okay by Japanese standards. We were able to hear the people in the neighboring room.
