Plenty of space for a large group with everything we needed to make our own meals in the kitchen. We also enjoyed the wide variety of delicious food for breakfast!

All staff members that we encountered from Bonna in the front desk, to the breakfast ladies- were super kind. The room was clean but VERY DATED. The sofa/sofa bed has definitely been used and abused. There are little sandbits or piling from the sofa cushions, it felt really gross when sitting down with shorts. The pillows were super flat. The bed itself is comfy but nothing amazing and not what I expected from a Marriott property. The lighting was terrible- soft yellow, making the room very dark. Switches for lights are awkwardly placed. The worst of all was the bathroom, the water pressure was terrible. For some reason there were ants, and we couldn’t find where they were coming from. The highlight is the delicious breakfast and the options available. However, it was inconsistent. There was one day that there were waffle makers out and lots of options, the next day- those options weren’t there. And that was on a weekend. The pool was also nice, heated and clean. Towels are self-serve. Location is good if you’re staying for an extended period of time, close to Ralph’s, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, UTC and some other shopping. Probably would not stay here again.

Great property

There are too many good options, to choose this terrible option. The supervisor, whom decided to take over the check-in from her lobby employee, was rude to me and the check in clerk. They charged for handicap parking (which is illegal). She tried charging me for early check in, without first giving me the option to wait an hour. She was terrible and deserves to be fired. The room was disgusting. It was very noisy all night. My advice is to find another place to stay.

Kalia the front desk staff who checked me in was really kind, friendly, and helpful. She gave a lot of good recommendations and answered all my questions about the hotel and the La Jolla area. Variety of breakfast everyday was great, and the drinks at the lobby were a plus! Thank you for an amazing stay! Nothing. All is good!

Reserved a 2-bedroom suite, but was informed that that unit was not accessible by wheelchair. Front desk employees moved us to 2 studio units, which was the best possible solution. Breakfast was good, but I recommend going early, because every morning it seemed most people waited until just before breakfast ended at 9am, to eat. After a rocky start, our stay at Residence Inn La Jolla was great. The studios were spacious, clean, and each had a fully equipped kitchen. Location was great, and 15-20 minutes away from everything we wanted to see and do, such as Ocean Beach, Sea World, and the San Diego Zoo. Overall a very nice property which I would happily stay at again. Property was likely an apartment complex before being bought by Marriot. Bathrooms were not ADA accessible, so I was unable to shower. Next time I will bring items that I use at home to help me into and out of the shower.

The only issue was the washing of the walkway above my unit left dripping soapy water for an hour and a puddle of of water in front of my door that was still there when I checked out at noon.

Everything was excellent. None

Liked every thing but the parking, last year we had our parking in front of our room, no one parked in front of our room but us, we had to park far from our room this year!

I absolutely loved this place! First off, its very rare nowadays to find a spot that has complementary breakfast included, but this place does! And the food options are great as well. The room we stayed in had everything we needed, super clean, and comfortable. The staff was great as well. We checked in late at night and Jay at the front desk was awesome at checking us in quickly and efficiently, and we got to our room rather quickly. Overall, we are definitely coming back.

Darkest hotel room I've ever stayed in and I'm 70 years old. Very dark even on a sunny SoCal day with every light in the room turned on. Just 1 night but couldn't wait to get out of there.

Great location, staff and amenities!
-
Very clean, parking was great all around the property

The manager (I forgot his name), but he was a thin hispanic man (worked on Friday 7/17 at 4:30pm), did an excellent job of accommodating our needs. I even saw him picking up trash at times to help maintain the property. The breakfast staff was also so so accommodating. Would 100% stay here again and recommend it!!!
