The Whitlock

This is a very quaint hotel in a fantastic location. It is easy to walk to everything in Lenox and even Tanglewood from the hotel. Just be aware it is an uphill walk back from Tanglewood. The room was very spacious and bed very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. If looking for any opportunities to improve, only thing I can come up with is a small frig in the room. Great place!

However, for a hotel that calls itself hi-end, it fell far short of that mark. First and foremost, the email communications with both Hotels.com and the The Whitlock were like a Marx Brothers skit: We were first told the check in would be at the Constance down the street, not at the Whitlock. When I asked the off-shore "team" about that, I was told that the Whitlock was under new management and no longer had off-site check-in. The additional info we received with attached links also did not work - the response: it will work the day of check in!!?? [ps - they were not "live" links, just a series of numbers and letters] It's great to try and streamline operations, but those operations MUST work, and the responses from the team must make sense!!!

Lovely room, nice amenities.

It's a unique property, a well-converted old mansion. There is no closet, and the floors slope a bit in the rooms, but it's a great room. I think bringing back a real restaurant to the property would be good as I really didn't know what was going on with that Tavern space.

Beautiful room comfortable bed

The location is perfect, right on the center of Lenox downtown. Parking at the back of the hotel, though you might not be able to find a parking space if come back late. The room size is ok. But without refrigerator or provide ice station at floor level-not convenient for summer. The floor carpet is old and dirty. The hotel added another antique styled area rug covering the half of the bed area. It looks better but the area rug are not attached to the ground carpet. Easy to get tripped. No room service except replacing towel per request daily. You need to take care your own garbage during your stay. The hotel does have a bar. However, do not expect real bar or meal service. Overall it is a historical old house with great location without too much of the services.

We visited on a Tanglewood concert night in August. Check-in process was super easy and staff was reachable almost immediately via text. Very clean, updated and well-appointed room. Bar area was quiet but someone was always accessible to get us ice or an adult beverage. Complimentary water & coffee. Lovely outdoor courtyard where we enjoyed the fire pit post-concert. Great location… walkable to all shops and restaurants! Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again!

We read the reviews on this site and other sites. They were not good. We arrived and the staff was not only friendly to us but pleasant to the people before And after us.tge room was clean and very pretty. It went right out to the patio which was fun. Parking was free and so easy for us. They had the bar open, the location was perfect for walking around. We are so very happy we didn't listen to the reviews. We will be back for more concerts knowing this place is here

The location in Lenox is ideal. That was probably the best thing about the hotel. The building itself is very tired and needs work. When we first arrived, we tried to raise the shade on the window and it fell down. The rug on the floor was old and dirty. Liquor not available at night.

Good location Room smelled of smoke, TV remote missing, AC unit not functioning properly. Not a good experience.

Wonderful location. Loved the courtyard. Room was fine - I booked a cozy room so I knew it would be small, but it was charming. The digital check-in and checkout seemed impersonal and not aligned with the charming character of the inn. There was so much potential with first floor common spaces but they felt dead, not used. Would have been nice to have a little cafe, wine served in the courtyard, music.

The property is very well located and the common areas are very nice The bedroom had three windows that had to be kept with curtains down the whole time because of lack of privacy so, staying in the bedroom felt very unwelcoming without any natural light. For the fee we were paying I would have appreciated more comfort and privacy. Also, the toilet had no lid, just a seat and with little surfaces to put our toiletries it was a bit of a challenge

Location is perfect for Tanglewood. Historic property. Very well done. My only negative was that you can hear everyone who walks by the room. Fortunately not many people were around.
