Alexandra Hotel

Good location close to Paddington Station. The WIFI didn't work 50% of the time. Air conditioning was advertised. In reality, each room had a standard and ineffectual fan.

The room had all the basics as described The curtains were dangling because they weren’t hanging on the hooks and too much daylight came through in the early morning. I was originally told that gluten free bread would be provided. It was subsequently withdrawn and I had to provide my own breakfast, apart from coffee and milk, which I’d paid for. Usually, stating breakfast ends at 9.15 means that food is no longer available, not that staff would be washing the floor around our table. Not their fault, I presume they had to get a lot done in the hour they were paid for. The stairs needed vacuuming.

The proximity, travel services, tea coffee facilities, kept luggage for us until flight time.although in reception not secure room. Rusty radiator in bathroom...very small double couldn't even open suitcase..had to do it on bed. Towels old, shower small n damaged tray, no tv remote in room, no fridge in room, breakfast basic but rushed us out at 9.15am even though still eating n drinking. Reception person on arrival not helpful, saw us struggling with baggage didn't offer to help, didn't smile. Walls dirty needs painting..reception desk needs updated..lift exceptionally small.

Staff do the great job- it is always clean and nice, check in is easy. Transport availability is great. We also got free tea bags and coffee. For the first several days wifi was overloaded and it was impossibly to connect. The room could have simple things which make life easier: hooks for towels, sign "do not disturb", small refrigerator. We had room at third floor by stairs, but it was ok for us - we are young and with small luggage. But it could be problem for other people. The main problem is breakfast. We stayed for 9 nights and it is just not sufficient for long stay: only bread, cornflakes, boiled eggs (not every day), two types of cheese, two types of salami, two types of yogurt. If only the place would have some variations: omelette/casserole, REAL croissants, soft cheese, ANY fruits/vegetables, porridge, it would be so much better!

Location The hotel is generally good, but it is overpriced. The elevator was out of order, and my room was on the top floor. The staff were friendly.

Given London hotel prices, good value with breakfast included. Bathroom good, nice shower etc. Reception desk were helpful allowing us to leave luggage in the foyer the next day up until 6.00pm, whilst we enjoyed our day. Not sure if all rooms are the same but ours was long and narrow, meaning that our double bed had access down one side only which had a side table. Clearly the room was better for single occupancy rather than one of us doing some acrobatics across or down the bed. The stairs were quite steep, we were on the third floor & there was no lift. Luckily we are fit but some might struggle particularly with heavy luggage.

location is good just a few minutes from Paddington station. near Hyde Park breakfast is included in the room fare elevator is not working and they don't give an effort to fix this problem they just say it will be fixed tomorrow. wi fi connection is on and off

room fine in all respects,location perfect for central london,breakfast buffet more than adequate with pleasant service. Nothing Im aware of.

Nothing We couldn’t sleep all night due to footsteps noises stumping on the roof of the room we slept. As our room was downstairs. It was horrible horrible noise.

Breakfast was very basic toast, not authentic croissants, cereal - no gluten free options. The location was the only good thing The room was tiny the bathroom was about the size of a toilet room. The shower was just above being cold, I complained several times but they wouldn’t give me another room. Realised on the last day that you had to let the shower run for over 5 minutes before it got hot Lift wasn’t working and had to walk up the stairs to 1st floor with no offer of help with my luggage TV didn’t work as it couldn’t connect to the WIFI

Absolutely tiny room! I cannot imagine staying in this room during hot weather. The beds are soo short that nearly 10cm of my legs were hanging down and Im only 173cm!! Ive asked the receptionist to change the room and was told that “all beds are like that”. Ridiculous!

Pleasant

Staff were fantastic. Breakfast was great. Didn't need any more . Shame lift was broken. Bit tricky.

Location, availability of personal to resolve issues, re: elevator did not function, comfortable beds, quiet Was there five days, never had a hot shower. Water was at best tepid. Bathroom floor was dirty and dust balls hung above The door on the trim. Breakfast buffet was the same everyday: no fruits, no plain yogurt, meat was nitrite filled cold cuts, no cream for coffee and no real croissant. My room was near front desk, would have apppreciated the fire door be closed, as it should be.
