The Avon Hotel is in London’s West End, just 215 yards from Paddington Train and Underground Station. In a registered historic Victorian building, the hotel features affordable rooms with free Wi-Fi and provides cooked English breakfasts. Location was fantastic, minutes away from Paddington and lots of shops, bars, restaurants within a few minutes walk yet outside the front door was one of the lovely little green space squares found throughout London. Room was small but adequate for our nights stay, very clean and had all the amenities you would expect from a hotel room, ie tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer and miniature showergels in the bathroom. Free breakfast, cooked when we went down to the breakfast room, had a selection of fruit, cereals and juice as well as the full English. Staff were friendly and helpful, stored our luggage as we arrived to early and provided more toast with breakfast when requested. Yes there was both street noise (it is literally central London surely this is to be expected?) and tube noise (personally found the rumbling quite soothing) but nothing excessive. All in great value for money and would use again. Nothing bad to say really - Room was a bit warm a fan would have been a fabulous touch but that's not provided in any hotel so not at all expected!

I've been there a few times. The stuff always very friendly and very helpful ☺️ There is nothing I didn't like. The breakfasts were beautiful and they made you feel really welcome. Always had a smile on their face ?

The location was 5 mins walk from Paddington station. Which is great! Forgot to check if there were any lifts! No lifts available. We stayed at the top floor and the stairs become steep and narrow as you go on top. The room was cramped and same as the bathroom. Nothing like the one in the photo—different bathroom. It says on the description that the reception is 24 hrs but it’s not. You have to ring a number if there is no staff in the reception. Overall it’s still good value for money granted that we only stayed there for 2 days but I cannot see myself staying there longer. Another plus side was the location.

Thé locations good Unfortunately, my stay did not meet expectations. The room was extremely small, leaving very limited space to move or store luggage. The heating device did not function properly at night, which made the room uncomfortable, especially during colder hours. In addition, the bathroom was very small and felt quite cramped. Considering the price charged for the room, the overall experience was not reasonable and did not offer good value for money.

The breakfast served was exceptionally good and the staff was dedicated to serve. The portion of food was good enough to provide us with the energy to tour London each day. The room heater seemed faulty and did not warm up each night. But its okay as the room was not so cold at night.

Very difficult climb to top floor with large bags, shower set up wasn’t safe for older guests. Room was too hot for sleep and bed position was inadequate to accommodate two guests.

As with other apartments in central London, the accommodation was very small, narrow and built tall as opposed to wide. We are a family of 4 so we were in a quadruple room on the 3rd floor. There were 60+ steps to get to our room and there was very little room to move around in the room. The beds were 2 full size beds as opposed to queen or king. We made it work and were very grateful for the Avalon Hotel and their staff.

When we got to the hotel, the receptionist said we could switch our triple room to a double room so we didn’t have to walk up the stairs to the third floor. We still had to walk up 3 flights of stairs and there was no compensation in the price. There were only 2 towels in the very tiny room. There was no air conditioning and you had to step out of the bathroom to wash your hands at the sink.

Close to tube station, clean and good breakfast One morning there was no hot water for a shower. We had to leave early and would miss breakfast. They said that they would leave a take away breakfast and did not. The rooms are very small.
