Really lovely touches at the hotel with the welcome cakes and a very generous supply of complementary snacks included. The location is perfect with being both near Oxford Street and Marylebone High Street - easy access to great shops and restaurants - but just far enough to get away from the noise. The room was light and airy, super clean and the bathroom a really great size with a sophisticated Japanese toilet.

This was no doubt the best hotel we've stayed in our whole trip to UK. From the name of this hotel I can tell it relates to Japan, and it was indeed a mixture of Western and Eastern cultures and experiences. The pleasant surprises began from the check-in: the receptionist told me that our room has a name "Dusk", each of the four best rooms in their hotel has its own name. That was the first time I've ever stayed in a hotel room with its own name! This is indeed special, as most of the hotel rooms only have their numbers. It's like the difference between pets and cattle. After we were led to our room, I was surprised by how spacious it was, even only the space in the bathroom was nearly the same as the whole space of the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed. Another thing worth mention was the power plugs: besides the UK standard plugs, there are at least two international power plugs in the room. I only brought three converters with me, so with the international power plugs I could use more appliances at the same time. That's a big convenience. There is a flat TV in front of the bathtub, I could watch news reports while taking bath. The last time I've stayed in a hotel room with a TV in the bath room was in October 2008 when I stayed in Shangri-La Far Eastern Taipei. After that I've stayed in countless hotels including some high-end ones like Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons, but there was no bathroom with a TV in the past 18 years. The breakfast was wonderful. There was a set called "Akatoki Breakfast", my wife said it was by far the best meal she had ever had in the whole trip -- not only breakfast, but all meals! The slippers were the best hotel slippers I've ever got, they were quite thick and comfortable. None. Every thing was well beyond my expectations.

Didn't see it Assigning a lower ground suite despite me saying I won't stay in one

Initially I was not happy with my room. Franchesca really looked after me, moved me to another room and made sure I was comfortable. The hotel is clean and efficient and the breakfast was superb. My five night stay was very comfortable there. Nothing.

I enjoyed my stay overall. The location was excellent, the hotel was wonderfully quiet and the service from the staff was warm, professional and welcoming throughout. These are all qualities I really appreciated and they made my stay relaxing. I was really looking forward to my stay as this was my first visit, and I found the staff to be welcoming, friendly and professional throughout. The service I received was excellent. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. Shortly after checking in I fould toenail clippings on the floor. I reported this to reception and was told someone would clean the room while I was out. When I returned, the toenail clippings were still there, so I had to contact reception again. A member of housekeeping then came and removed them. The following morning, while doing yoga in my room, I noticed a used cotton ear bud underneath the TV cabinet. Finding another item left hehind by a previous guest after the room had supposedly been cleaned was extremely disappointing.

The staff (Francesca, Henry, Chris, Lucy and all the team in front of house, cleaning, and restaurant service were perfect. The beds were excellent and the shower was great. The location is a perfect walking distance from most things worth seeing or shopping. The breakfast was poor in comparison to the hotel. The options were very limited (in all aspects) and the chef seemed unsure of the difference between a chicken and vegetarian sausage. The omelette was acceptable but not great, or the expectation of a Japanese level restaurant, the presentation was more run of the mill than 5 stars... Out of 4 days, we had 1 half decent breakfast.

Everything! Special shoutout to the lovely staff and housekeeping crew — room was always cleaned so exceptionally well and basically spotless, and the turn down service is such a thoughtful gesture. Loved all of the small details like the Japanese bathrobes & house slippers, loose leaf tea that was delicious, bath salts & other toiletries provided, yoga mat in the room and the bed and pillows were so so luxurious and comfortable! The staff are so friendly while still respecting your privacy, it struck a nice balance between feeling taken care of while being able to enjoy the hotel on your own. The gym is well outfitted and is a great size to get a quick workout in. It’s such a nice place to come back to after a long day out, and we felt so taken care of and calm amidst how high energy London is. You can really switch off your brain and just relax because the staff have everything covered and are very happy to help you. It’s also located on a quieter road + the comfy bed guarantees a great night’s sleep. I’ll definitely be returning. Absolutely nothing.
