The hotel is well-located, with the Southwark metro station just 3 minutes away. The staff were very friendly. The hotel is very nice and clean. I was shocked right from check-in: an extra £150 was charged as a security deposit, which was only returned when the bank processed the payment for the stay (a process that took nearly a week). Upon entering the room, I had a second shock: the window was huge but completely fixed—meaning not a single pane could be opened for ventilation. There was no coffee/tea maker as stated in the room details; instead, there was just a kettle and sachets of coffee and tea (and coffee made simply with hot water isn't good). The air conditioning couldn't be turned off because there was no "off" button (I was told I had to ask reception to switch it off; I did so, but they forgot). Even though they knew we were coming from Europe, there was no UK-to-Europe power adapter in the room. The water pressure at the sink was very low, even though the pressure in the shower was good. I really want a response from the hotel.

Clean There isn’t even a coffee machine in the room. There was one the first time I stayed here, but they’ve removed it. The rooms get absolutely no sunlight, and the lighting is very yellow, which makes the room feel really depressing.

Excellent hotel - very stylish and good vibe! Staff were very friendly and the location was perfect. A great location for seeing the main sites in the city - all are walkable from this location with the Tate Modern 5-10 minutes away. I have stayed in a number of hotels in this area and The Hoxton Southwark is streets ahead. I can also highly recommend the breakfast (not included in the room rate) which is served on the 14th floor in their rooftop restaurant.

The ambience was delightful, warm and inviting with lots of great seating options inside and out. Love all the greenery. Great to be able to eat and drink in various areas. I felt safe, secure and completely comfortable on my own. Slow lifts.

It was very well located The room was quite small with no room to put our suitcase. We had to place our suitcase on the floor in a tight corner of the room.since we were staying for 6 nights it was very inconvenient to get stuff out of our suitcase. A simple luggage rack in the corner of the room would have made things much easier during our stay. The bathroom was great and the breakfast menu in the lobby $$$ very pricey for two coffees and croissants. Powdered coffee available in our room was awful for a boutique hotel. I don’t think I would stay in this hotel if I was a couple staying for more than a weekend.
