Clean, beautiful hotel with lots of hangout spots for our group as well!

Always an amazing hotel. We got married there 15 years ago and always try to stay here when we are back in town

The staff was amazing! Very attentive and helpful. The dining was top notch. The atmosphere was festive and elegant.

We have wanted to stay here because of the nostalgia. The place is as well maintained as it can be for a building this old. We loved the atmosphere but had some issues. The TV in the room is very small and our air conditioning both nights quit working. They did send maintenance promptly the 2nd day but it quit again that night. The bed was old and needed replaced and the only ice machine working was 6 floors down from our floor. All and all it was a good stay and we were glad to experience some of history.

Room was clean. Staff were helpful and attentive. Bar service was friendly and prompt.

Clean room some updates, friendly staff, breakfast buffet was amazing, very pricey but amazing and worth the try, I felt like Gordon Ramsey was in the kitchen cooking, it was that good! The Hot Brown was good and rich with a creamy sauce! I would stay there again, but the lights keep flickering on and off which may the Hotel more interesting lol, I just saying, and maintenance could not figure out why? Go figure!!

Went for a six day trip and we loved the charm of the hotel. Bar drinks were great and room was cleaned each day, which was nice.
-
Great experience! Staff was helpful and food/bar was great

The only negative for us was that the room could have been cleaner. There were spiderwebs on the window sills and the blinds were dusty. The room could have used some TLC. All in all a very nice stay!

The hot brown was delicious.

This hotel is a lovely, historic hotel in downtown Louisville. The hotel is very inviting and grand, when you first enter. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond when it came to customer service. The room was very clean but some of the maintenance was lacking overall in the hotel. Ceilings were chipping in various areas along with some doors. This is to be expected in a historic hotel though and is understandable. We ate at the Lobby Bar and Grill and the food and service were both excellent. Must try the amazing Hot Brown while you are there! We had after dinner drinks at the bar and the bartenders (Kat and Nick) were exceptional. We had breakfast at the buffet breakfast. The food was good but it was overpriced for a breakfast buffet (the breakfast buffet cost as much as dinner the night before). Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you are in Louisville.

Rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Furnishings are a little dated. Restaurant staff was very friendly and did try the Brown for dinner.. Yum!! Derby pie was great too!! Parking is in adjacent lot with hallway to access hotel straight to front desk.

The Brown Hotel is beautiful! It is like taking a trip back in time when you walk in the door.I love the architectural grandeur of the whole place, the elegant carpets, drapes, furniture, and paintings. The staff is so friendly, from the person who greets you at the door to the servers in the restaurants. Two of the meeting rooms are named after famous racehorses- Citation and Secretariat. I loved that! The Brown Hotel is rich in culture and history. Read about it in the little nook that is like a museum! Breakfast in the J. Graham’s Cafe is wonderful -especially the cheese grits and potatoes with onions and peppers. The Hot Brown in the Lobby Bar and Grill cannot be matched anywhere else!! Don’t waste time trying! One thing to note: If you walk out the front door and around the corner on the left, you won’t walk very far until you are in an area of homeless people/drugs/needles. That was our experience. We found that we should turn right when we go out the front door of the hotel. That leads to a shopping/eating area a few blocks down. Next time, I know to do that or just stay in the hotel.
