Just a heads-up: there is a neighbor’s cow shed about a hundred meters from the hotel entrance, with beautiful and healthy cows. While it adds a bit of rustic island charm, it's something to be aware of as you arrive.

On a good note, the room was clean. The staff were helpful and nice. I didn't go in the swimming pool, but it looked clean. The guesthouse is away from the main road, so it is quiet. The big disappointment is that it is positioned as a premium four-star establishment. It is very expensive for the area, I paid EUR 50 for the night. I wanted a treat and thought that it might be nice to have the four-star treatment. It feels cheap. It is at best a guesthouse. The owners live on the premises. The room has no privacy, so we need to keep the curtains closed at all times, as people in the lobby can see directly into the room. The shower has no pressure. Cheapest plastic bin in the bathroom, cheapest metal shelves. The location is off the road, with a 200m walk on a dirt path with no lights. Breakfast is basic. I mean, check the pictures. If it were EUR 20 a night like the other guesthouse in the area, it would be ok. At that price, it is a rip-off and definitely not premium. I felt misled.

Everything! From the hospitality of the owner to the rooms to the location. Le Chien Rouge is an absolute diamond in the rough. Lovina is not the most beautiful town. Chien Rouge is a beautiful sanctuary

This gorgeous little hotel was quaint and a rare gem to discover. The simple rooms are beautifully decorated and the pool area just a stunning way to relax. It was very central and quiet. The only negative feedback I would say as I was staying with my two daughters was the lack of privacy between the bedroom and bathroom with a screen door providing minimal privacy. For most couples I assume this is not an issue however it leaves nothing to the imagination.

The location itself was fantastic. Out of the way and perfect for a couple wanting a romantic retreat or family wanting a change of pace from the hustle and bustle of elsewhere. The staff were amazing as was the owner. Breakfast was simple yet very nice. The rooms were well thought out and the outside bathroom was a very nice addition to the room. Pool was amazing and helped provide a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy there. We look forward to going back there and staying again. Very minor but a 2nd pillow on the beds.

It was a small paradise with beautiful flower gardens, the owner, she gave it her personal finishing touch. All fine she even helped organize privé boat trip and we had the most wonderful diner because of her recommendation .

This place is wonderfully well-kept, stylish and comfortable. The owner of the place is on the site and she and her partner were great to talk to and took good care of this place. The breakfast “goreng” was one of the best ones I ever had in Bali.

Really nice lay out with villas around the pool and the bar/breakfast area. Owners were absolutely lovely and very hospitable! Believe a clearer message should be provided, maybe via a WhatsApp message to state the hotel is cash only.

Location size and amenities Host, manager and staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms spacious and clean. Pool was great. Very well priced accommodation. We weren't able to stay longer as we had accommodation booked in Ubud.

The location was good. The pool was green. They don't have a fridge in the room, given it's 30 degrees plus it would be nice to have cold drinks in your room.
