Hostal Met Madrid

the room was on the small size, but large enough for a one night stay. it was very clean. we were provided with free coffee, tea, water and cava in our room which was really nice. the bathroom was small and the shower very narrow. the location was right smack dab in the middle of the city, right next to plaza mayor and the food market. it was a little hard to find, since it is in an apartment building and there was only a very small sign by the door indicating it's presence. also, the elevator was out of service, so we had to "shlep" our luggage up the 2 flights of stairs.

Elevator was out of service on checkout day. Despite telling them I could handle it, the staff insisted on carrying my 50lb/23kg suitcase down two flights of stairs for me. That was above and beyond. Location was brilliant. Property was clean. Room was cosy but fine for a two night stay.

Everything was perfect except the room was a bit smaller than expected, but it was clean and comfy. Not able to find the hotel, no sign and no way to find this location. I had to ask the mini bar around the corner and he pointed out to the building and I had to press the buzzer to speak to someone. Even after entering the building you wont know that it is in 2nd floor.

The hostal is located right in the center of Madrid next to Plaza Mayor and is equipped with air conditioning. The rooms have a fridge with some complementary water and sparkling wine (for free) as well as a kettle and a selection of tea and instant coffee. The staff is great, the woman at the reception took quite some time to explain us Madrid and what we could do there. We liked everything here.

Property is wonderful and near shopping /restaurants. Host always checked on us if we needed anything. None

Location. It is an old Hostal, the interiors renovated. The corridors to enter the room are tight. Bathroom space is tight, shower is fine except drainage is slow. Value is not great. Few outlets, tight space around bed, side shelf hits bed at head. Few shelf space or hooks.

Best spot in Madrid's old city center, access to all! Easy, convenient, clean, superb staff! Highly recommend. Nothing.

Location is excellent, and the room was quiet. The rooms are very small.

Location, location and free Cava!

Could easily hear other guests walking down the hallway. Not a lot of protection from other sounds or lights.

Very noisy rooms, tiny walls, uncomfortable bed

Wonderful location close to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Our room was fairly spacious and included 2 bottles of water and a small bottle of cava, in addition to tea and coffee (instant) supplies. Our room was pretty quiet. While not luxurious, it was perfect for a two night stay. Staff was great and helped us arrange an early cab. My only suggestion is different pillows. They were extremely hard foam with no give, and it gave me a headache to sleep on it.
