Hotel Mediodía is located right in front of Atocha station, with immediate access to the AVE, metro, commuter trains and Madrid's main transport links. The hotel is located next to the Art Triangle, a few minutes' walk from the Reina Sofía Museum, the Prado Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. The Paseo del Prado, Retiro Park and the Botanical Garden are also very close. The hotel is located in a historic building from 1914 in the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V. It preserves original elements such as stained glass windows and a classical main staircase. The rooms are functional and have air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, TV and private bathroom. In addition, the hotel has a 24-hour reception to assist guests throughout their stay. Very well located. The room was clean and comfortable. It had air conditioning and the toilet was immaculate. No breakfast.

The staff was friendly and helpful and not annoyed by simple questions. They also spoke at least some English and were pleasant about that. The shower head holder was broken so the shower head had to be hand-held

Great location, right in front of Atocha train station. Comfortable beds and pillows. Lovely balcony on the main street. Spacious bathroom. Lots of local cafeterias and restaurants just out the door. I would definitely recommend adding a kettle to the room for tea or coffee. That simple addition would have made the stay perfect!

The hotel is a walking distance from the train station, it is easy to spot and we had no problem walking to it with our suitcases. The check-in was quick and easy. The room itself was the biggest room I have seen in european hotels (we got a room with 3 twin beds), the bathroom was big and clean and the windows were overlooking the Emperor Charles V Plaza. The location is great - lots of museums, cafes, restaurants and Plaza Mayor are easily reachable by walking, no need to use any transportation. Food options are abundant and for the morning it was very nice to have a Dunkin Donuts right downstairs that opens at 7:30am. I am 194cm/6'4' and my feet were hanging off the bed, maybe it is normal for a twin size bed but I never get to use those. Also in August Madrid gets very hot, and the small in room AC unit did an ok job for its size but it was still a bit too hot to sleep.

Excellent location, right across from Atocha. Lovely art deco building. Very easy connection to airport on the Airport bus. Lots of restaurants all around the hotel.

Location, value for money The air con was very noisy! I ended up switching it off as I couldn’t get the fan speed to reduce. There were no instructions . Other family members didn’t have a problem

Rooms and bathrooms small. Shower had to leave door open. No room. Sink was on top of toilet. Room was dirty. Could open window.
