It’s so close to city centre and it’s such a beautiful hostel! We enjoyed our stay there so much!

Location. Quiet and clean place at a busy location

There was a lift. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. The handles on the faucet and shower were the opposite positions for hot and cold.

I liked the location. We could walk to the Plaza de Sol easily, which had various stores and restaurants to look at. The room was also very spacious and easy to access.

The hostal was in a great location to walk around the city. The room was quite spacious for three twin beds and the bathroom had a lot of shelf and hook spaces to store items. The staff were helpful and welcoming. There is an elevator if you need it which was nice since the hostal is a few floors up. A/C worked well in the June heat. It is called a hostal but overall felt more like a hotel since we had a private room and bathroom. The walls were so thin that it was difficult at times to sleep even with earplugs and a white noise machine on. Other guests were loud some times and caused the shared wall to shake. The doors were difficult to close so there was a lot of slamming door sounds throughout the night. There was no refrigerator to store drinks/snacks in.

Central location, lovely renovated rooms, clean and bright, friendly staff Beds a bit hard

Some guests made loud noises and the sound proof is not very good

Superb location. Wonderful historical exhibits in the foyer make Hostal Aguilar a memorable experience to cherish. The nearby cafe was also a treat. On arrival downstairs there was no information on how to find the hotel. We had to wait to ask people from the elevator or the stairs where to find the hotel desk on the second floor.

The location is fantastic and the staff is friendly and helpful. The place is nicely refurbished and looks very neat. Our room had a smell of humidity. The single beds were a bit small for me.

Gorgeous historic building that has multiple hotels in different floors. I stayed on floor 3. My room was beside the entrance and though I heard people in the hallway, it didn’t block my sleep. My room faced the inner courtyard. The room was spotless and newly renovated it seemed. No closet but there was a bar + hangers to hang clothes in a tidy corner. Multiple lighting options. New windows that insulated much of the outdoor air. Windows can be opened for fresh air. I think I was in an accessible room so the shower head sprayer didn’t attach up high. I had to keep propping it up and it kept falling which was frustrating considering how badly I wanted a comforting shower. Location was unbelievably amazing. Semana Santa processions passed right in front of the hotel. The lobby is gorgeous. The staircase is gorgeous too. My bathroom was large but perhaps because it might have been an accessible room. Located steps away from some historically significant literary bars. Also the hair dryer was one of those cheap hotel ones that catch long hair and fry it.

What a find! Easy walking distance to the art museums, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, flamenco, restaurants and most everything. Close to the metro. Our room faced the courtyard and even on New Years Eve with 10s of thousands of people outside, we heard nothing. Appreciated having a coffee vending machine in the mornings before the nocturnal city awakens.

Very spacious room and comfortable for our family of four. Nice lobby. People at front desk were nice and helpful. Location is great. No frills but that was to be expected but this place was better than expected will definitely recommend and return
