The facility was still in the middle of renovations. Whoever did the renovation had no idea what they were doing. Carpet loose, toilet leaking, chips in several areas of the bathroom, overall sloppy work

As the guy said on the elevator as we were leaving “never stayed at a construction site before.” The whole place could use a facelift, which it appeared to be in the middle of, but they kept the place open. The pool was being redone, signs everywhere regarding wet paint, and workers doing repairs at every corner. The other main issue we had was there was no hot water during the day, which was hard because we were coming back around 3 to shower and nap before heading back out. Each shower became a cold plunge challenge. The buffet was good and the people who worked there were all pleasant. It just was obviously not taken care for a while and I get that repairs need to be done but it isn’t fair to ask people to pay what they are expecting a certain level and getting a construction site with spotty water. It was not a great stay to say the least.

Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives. The entire Hotel is under renovation. Upon returning to our hotel room, the paint fumes were so heavy we had to open the window. To the Hotel’s credit they did change our rooms the following day. When we arrived on Monday, the pool was under renovation until Tuesday per the posted sign. The sign was turn updated to Thursday. I’m not sure if it’s even open now. Breakfast was underwhelming to say the least. After two days, we chose to eat out at our expense. We had to return to the front desk for shampoo as the fixed container in the bathroom was empty. The blinds were problematic. Not our best stay and did not meet our expectations for a Hilton-branded hotel.

The hotel was making some renovations and there was debris from construction along the baseboards in the hallway & in our room. Staff & amenities were excellent, as well as the breakfast choices.

Where do I begin? No clerk to be found, TV didn't work, refrigerator didn't work, pool was closed the whole time we were there, microwave didn't exist. (He brought one with the replacement refrigerator and got the TV working while he was there), no ice bucket, one side door was always unlocked where the other one didn't work at all. (You could only go out - your room key did not unlock it like it was supposed to) On the plus side, the breakfast was fine, and the A/C in the room worked good. There was also a sizable number of channels in the TV once you could figure out how to get the menu up. Renovations are ongoing and I tried to be understanding of that, but there's only so much you can tolerate when paying a high nightly rate.

The hotel did not disclose that it is undergoing a full on renovation while allowing guests to stay. Construction dust, workers, and wet paint are everywhere. There were also nails, screws, and shards of metal at the thresholds. We walked onto our floor and encountered a five gallon bucket of water in front of our door. The photos provided through Expedia are not an accurate representation of what the rooms and surrounding areas look like. Even within the rooms, there was construction dust and smeared plaster and paint. If you enjoy staying in a construction site at an exit where the surrounding businesses are closed and rundown buildings are plentiful, this is the place for you.

Nothing Construction debris and paint odor everywhere

    Bad

Breakfast was good. Hotel was under renovation. Rooms were extremely dirty. Hallways were dirty and smelled. Bathroom tub and toliet did not work.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

nothing It was literally construction zone with dust everywhere, hallways were bare concrete where the carpet had been stripped, AND, there was no hot water.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Construction was going on and very unkept although there was no construction workers onsite. Drywall rocks everywhere that could of been swept up and mopped until construction work came back. Pool was very grimy and very dirty around the edges. Once I noticed that I got out. I also witnessed one of the staff members from the kitchen get rude and irritated by another guest for not knowing how to work waffle maker by shoving her out the way while hands were on the waffle maker.

Staff was very helpful and kind.

Hotel did not have water upon arrival and the entire hotel was torn up due to renovations that they didn't make us aware of prior. When the water did come back on it never got hot. Had to take a cold shower twice. The pool looks old and gross. The breakfast is very inconsistent. Would not recommend.

When we walked in the entire main floor appeared to be under construction and open to the public. We were told that our room was recently renovated. The room was clean although the blinds were broken, the bathtub was dirty and wouldn’t drain. Very Disappointed for the price we paid and were unaware that the hotel was under a major construction.

    Location

The hotel was under construction and so not at its best. Lots of dust in the rooms and hallways. Often strong paint smells in the hallway. The pool was neither hot nor cold.

We have stayed at this property many times as we often come to visit Kings Island during the summer. Our most recent visit was less than stellar as compared to past stays. It’s unclear if there is new management or what but the front desk staff allowed the lobby to become a disaster and they were also hard to locate.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Our room on the 3rd floor was recently renovated, so it appeared clean. The lobby and hallways are old and didn't appear very clean. The front desk person was very impersonable and not very friendly. Glad we only stayed one night.
