Upon our arrival after booking the room days in advance we were that there were no king size bed rooms available! It had already been paid for!! 6 days!!! The front desk clerk finally put us in a king size suite which for some reason was not showing available? We were there for 6 nights and not once did housekeeping show up! I actually had to go ask for towels. Our room keys never worked we goad to constantly go down to the front desk and they would reset them. Garbage sat out on the 2 sitting areas outside for days. The pool was never open. I feared that our next stop was going to be dreadful because it to was at a Country Inn and Suites in Effingham, IL. It was a huge difference!!!! Maumee hotel could certainly take some tips from Effingham, IL hotel!!! I can assure you that we will not be staying at the Maumee, OH again. Probably won’t use Expedia to book hotels at all for that matter this is the 2nd time I have prepaid for a hotel reservation only to get there and there not be what I reserved and PAID FOR NOT BE AVAILABLE UPON ARRIVAL Very Very disappointed

There was trash in the hall for a full 24 hours that no one that works there thought to pick up. It was gross. Otherwise it would have been a decent place for the money.

Room was clean except the bathroom floor along the sides & corners could use more attention. Toilet paper holder was somewhat broken. We just put the roll on the counter. Sink was separate from the toilet/shower area. Some like that, we prefer it all together. Bed was comfortable. Hotel was quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Miss Bee. Breakfast was very good in selection and quality. Would stay here again.

Staff was helpful but the room was short on towels, skimpy on soap.

Internet was basically unavailable in our 3rd floor room. Asked the desk clerk about it and was told there were no other complaints. The water in the shower barely came out and took several minutes to heat up. The refrigerator was falling out of the cabinet because of a hole on the bottom. Breakfast did not start until 7:00 AM.

The positive day staff were awesome, and made the stay that much more enjoyable during the 4 days we were in town.

The only good thing about our stay is that we survived the week. It was an experience I would not like to repeat. When we arrived and went to our room, we had been traveling all day and were exhausted, so we didn’t notice all the things that were awful in the room. The next morning, however, we noted the chair and one of the bedside tables in our bedroom had been covered in vomit and poorly cleaned. I ended up scrubbing both. We also noted that the bathroom was badly in need of updates and would benefit from an actual cleaning. We also had to make three separate trips to the front desk to have our room keys reset because the door lock stopped working. On the last day we were there, the “maintenance” staff finally fixed the door. And the elevator! Don’t get me started on that contraption. We were on the third floor, and my husband has some mobility issues, so we were forced to used that death trap. I do not advise anyone who has a fear of enclosed spaces to attempt it. (As a side note, my husband is a retired fire inspector, and he noted several items that were not up to code in the elevator as well as the hotel itself). Look, we have traveled to a lot of places, and some have been “interesting”, but if we had not already paid the fee in advance, I would have checked out the next day. I definitely do not recommend this place.

Our tv didn't work. We were told that the satellite was down. Did not know if that was true or not. Also, we only had one towel. We had to go to the front desk and ask for one. Nor.ally these things were not a problem on previous stays here.

That being said, breakfast wasn't served until 7am, which was an issue since I needed to be out the door before 7. The listing doesn't mention that, and I'm used to something being available at 6am. The 32" tv in the room wasn't working, front desk was already aware. Fridge was missing the racks, making it tricky to put more than a couple things in it. Wifi was down. Front desk also already aware. Whole place felt really out dated. At some point, a half assed refurb was done, but you can see many places that weren't touched. Just need a bed and shower? It's good for that. I'm willing to pay a few more dollars next time for something a little better though.

The sheets were old. There were hairs under our pillows that were not ours. The shower needs to be replaced. Water pools around your feet and the shower floor is very old. The pool was out of order. There was not a hot tub. The breakfast was mediocre. There was not any coffee in the lobby for my husband and I since the staff were working very hard to keep the breakfast food filled for a large amount of people staying as part of a bus tour. The carpet in our room was stained. There was not a trash can in the bathroom in our room. Every time we turned on the television we had to push extra buttons to have the hdmi cable reengage. The sounds proofing was lacking. We could hear people above us and in the hallway outside of our room.

The breakfast was scant and subpar in comparison to other options in the area at a similar price, about half of what you could normally expect. Tea options weren't really options, simply Earl Grey or nothing. Every other hotel makes this minute effort at comfort. Corners were cut everywhere giving the hotel a general air of cheapness, and that it is obviously owned by a franchisee given the minimal standards. The pillows were small, the blanketing too thin, the towels too old. Even the television was small, with a cable system interface that felt cheap and wonky and a Netflix button on the remote that doesn't work. It was very clear that ownership does not care about you or your comfort, or repeat business apparently.

When I arrived, there was staff sleeping on the chairs in the lobby. I told him nap time was over cause I was checking in. I asked to get a room, not near the elevator which then she put me right near the elevator. The hotel needs to be updated. The room’s kind of felt sticky not clean. The pool was closed down.
