It was a good location in Manila and room was fairly clean and had a fan and power outlet, good wifi, and the public showers were decent with hot water and soap, and they sell cold drinks and bottled water in the lobby and take credit card for it. But overall one of the worst hotels I'd ever been in as you'll read in my "what didn't you like" section. Thought I could save a little money by booking this place and still have a hostel type environment, but it was worse than the pics lead you to believe. None of the staff spoke a word of English and weren't very helpful, despite me knowing Spanish, I couldn't really hear the lady receptionist because she would mumble and not speak clearly. The male receptionalist acted friendly at first when I saw him as i came up the stairs, and when he realized I wasn't Colombian, the smile left his face and he acted like I didn't exist. I ended up leaving after 1 night despite booking 6 days and stayed in a better more expensive place down the street. The front door uses an electronic lock that is very tricky and slow to operate and they don't give you clear directions on how to open it when you book, though eventually I got the hang of it. The room was the size of a walk in closet, the room door lock doesn't close well and you have to position the door a certain way to get it to even close. The bed was pretty stiff with only one pillow despite the pics showing two. The door wasn't very private and you can see light through it and hear everything outside, and the constant smell of harsh cleaning chemicals was very persistant. One of the three toilets in the mens room had no toilet seat, though they were in clean working condition. Overall, just a very low-quality and uncomfortable experience, and I felt very unwelcome staying there as an American. Please stay anywhere else but here if you're going to be in El Poblado or Medellin in general. It seems like a good deal for a private room, but you are sacrificing a lot of comfort that you would get from a traditional hotel room, so please treat yourself to something better so that you don't have the same bad experience. Best of luck in Medellin!

    Perfecto todo Nada

No AC in rooms. Rooms are much smaller than advertised. Can’t even fit a suitcase in there. For the price you can find much better accommodation nearby. I had to leave early

Dirty beds , not comfortable mattresses at all, you can listen to everything.

Layout of facility was relaxing with the single room hostel and patio. Reception personnel are nice and helpful. I’ve spent 4 of the past 7 months at this location. This was my go to hostel but gradually got worse with noise level and lack of quiet hour enforcement. Rooms have thin walls but guest seem to think otherwise playing TV programs, speaker phone talking in high volume or speaking with each other as if they are in competition. This happens daily after 10pm through the late night and early morning. I couldn’t stand it anymore and stayed at another Hostel I stumbled across for the next 20 days that is clean, functional, quiet and great location. Parceros hostel lost a good and once loyal customer.

After spending a week I discovered a bed bug. I messaged the host as soon as possible and they responded "OK NO PROBLEM BYE" (mind you I wasn't requesting a refund or acting uncivilized) I think they know they HAVE an issue. Also the facilities are dated and the pictures are from long ago.

It was with in walking distance from the night life. My bed was squeaky when trying to sleep. But still got a good rest.

It was a decent location. I assumed it was dormitories , but they were makeshift rooms with no space to lay out your gear. There were prostitutes staying at the hostel. It didn’t feel as it was a hostel for travellers. It felt more like a shelter!

The location, the price, the staff. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in.

Loved the safe location Staff was supportive and allowed earlier check-in Basic room but well maintained Nothing specific. Kitchen could use a much needed upgrade in pans and utensils

The location is great, very safe and near the center of El Poblado, but still quiet and peaceful. The common area is fantastic, the best I have ever seen and it does not force you to hang out with other people if you are an introvert, you can just sit and work in peace. The kitchen is very good, the rooms are dark and quiet. A fantastic deal for the price! There could be more storage inside of the room (the little lockers are useless, better to replace them with shelves or something similar. Also if you book a bunk bed room, it is located on the 2nd floor, and the toilets and bathrooms are located on the 3rd floor, so it can be tedious to always go upstairs.

The staff was very accommodating friendly staff No toilet seat on a few of the toilets

The location and price are really good The doors don’t really close completly so you hear absolutely everything other people are doing. Also the staff was playing music super loud in the reception up to 3 am (it was new years but still).

Great staff, good location, hot water in showers, good price. Noise from other occupants late at night.

  • Engine customer Dec 2025

Very noisy, the doors are just thin wood and theres many rooms next to each other. For the price, fine, but not for more than one or two nights.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable but still great value overall.

Just about the only thing I liked here was the location. It was just above, and off to the side of the Manila neighborhood, so it was pretty devoid of the party-crowd noises. It was just a 2-block walk to the majority of the bars and restaurants of Manila, and about 5 blocks from Parque Poblado. It was almost like a nightmare staying there. The first thing I noticed when I entered the room, there was barely enough room to move, for the bed to fit. There were no shelves to put my clothes, just an old wooden chair, so I had to put my clothes on the floor under the bed. The first night, I came back to the hostel after dinner, and it was pouring rain, so I am standing outside, soaked, and couldn't get the front door to open. The push-button lock was so small, and faint, that I had to take my phone out to see the numbers. After trying several times to open it, I noticed a doorbell, and they let me in. I told the front desk my issue, but they never told me (nor instructed me) that you have to push a number to activate the keypad, to start the code sequence to open the door. It wasn't until days later that another guest told me this! My room was right next to the reception area on the 3rd-floor, so trying to get some quiet was nearly impossible, with the number of guests coming and going, and the chatter that went with it, and the crew of girls hanging out there. One girl was pleasant, and helpful, while the other seemed (pretended) not to understand a word I said in Spanish, even though I have eleven years living, and speaking in a Spanish-speaking country! The bathrooms were decent, except for the fact that two of the three stalls didn't even have a toilet seat! The common/dining area was decent, but the kitchen was certainly not great, nor clean......many guests didn't clean up after themselves. Lastly, on my final day, the wi-fi was out all day. I needed to check-in for my flight, and do my migration form, and had to walk several blocks to a known restaurant, to poach their wi-fi to prepare for my flight. It didn't seem that they were too concerned about this inconvenience, as it was never corrected until the next day. Overall, and I've traveled across the world, and stayed at many hostels, this was probably the worst!
