Firstly, the cleanliness of the rooms was below expectations. For a five-star property, we expected a much higher level of attention to cleanliness and housekeeping. Secondly, we requested a late check-out and were more than willing to pay the additional charge. However, we were told that this was not possible because the room was already booked for another guest. We found this a little disappointing, especially since we only requested to stay until 3:00 PM, which is the hotel’s standard check-in time. We understand that availability can sometimes be limited, but we expected a little more flexibility or effort to accommodate the request. Another disappointing point was the luggage storage. After checking out, we asked the hotel to keep our luggage until our driver arrived. Surprisingly, our bags were left outside in the open air for quite a long time. For a five-star hotel, we would expect a proper and secure luggage storage area where guests’ belongings can be safely kept after check-out. Finally, the overall attitude of the staff was not particularly friendly or welcoming. The level of warmth, hospitality, and attentiveness that we normally experience and expect from a five-star hotel was unfortunately missing. Overall, the hotel itself was not bad, but these issues affected our experience. With better attention to cleanliness, guest service, luggage handling, and overall hospitality, the experience could have been significantly better and more in line with a five-star standard.

everything was stunning, such a beautiful place it was chaos. as soon as there was a big group, there was not enough staff and breakfast was chaos. my laundry was chaos, my parking was chaos, at the bar our order got forgotten. a lot of these little things...

The overall design and ambience of the hotel was peerless. The architecture mixed with raw materials (reused from the original sites buildings), combined with endless greenery within the rooms and common spaces, made for an experience unlike any other hotel I've visited. I didn't stay long enough! And there were seagulls nesting a few floors down from our room, so we couldn't leave the windows open during the night. Neither of these things are the fault of the hotel of course :)

Location wise I can see it being a slight hassle to get food or little items you need.

1. We brought our pet dog along for this trip. When searching through bookings.com, a lot of properties in the Melbourne CBD advertised pet-friendly, only to restrict bringing them when we booked. Not 1 Hotel Melbourne. Upon confirmation, the staff reached out to us, confirming details of our pet, and greeting us and our pet by his name upon arrival. This is the ultimate peak of pet-friendly. 2. The breakfast is a must. We have booked the room to include breakfast, which is available as a la carte. We were there for 3 nights, tried quite a few items on the breakfast menu. Everything was spot on, the quality, the taste, the environment, the staff. One of the best breakfast offerings we had experienced. 3. Bed was super comfortable, temperature setting was easy to adjust and just hits the spot. 4. Bathroom and shower are really clean. 5. We had a larger suite on the 4th floor. It has an excellent layout Maybe, on-site complementary parking would be nice. Valet parking rate was AUD$80 per night, which is close to what the closest indoor parking building (Siddley Street) charged for a day (if we remembered correctly, $75 per day). Otherwise, there was nothing that we did not like.

The sheeting in the beds was very scratchy and uncomfortable. For a premium hotel, this was very disappointing. I was also very disappointed that the pool facilities were closed during my stay.

Beautiful hotel. Really clean, comfortable and modern. Loved all the greenery around the hotel. Staff were lovely. I would eat breakfast at one of the cafes nearby. Poached eggs were overcooked and gluten free toast was like cardboard. Fruit salad was also very small for the price. There is a lovely cafe across the road, so this isn't a big issue.

Beautiful facilities The gym, the sauna spa and pool area

Great location, amazing facilities (pool, spa, sauna, steam room) and very good breakfast included. The staff were not great. We had a bad experience with a waitress with attitude at breakfast on our last day - got our order wrong, then came and argued with us and tried to blame her mistake on us and asked us how we should fix it - which put a dampener on the stay,

Pillows and mattress were too soft

I love the overall ambience of the hotel, the warm and natural interior, and the warm staff members. I would like it better if the swimming pool were open-air, it felt a bit too stuffy.

The decor and location of the venue made this a memorable and enjoyable stay. The use of organic materials, like wood and ceramics were stunning. Staff were super friendly and the room was spacious and comfy. I didn't enjoy my breakfast at all (Malted pancakes). They were bitter. The attentive staff noticed I hadn't finished the meal at the end of the dining experience and they politely enquired about why. I told them they were not to my liking and they offered to use a different recipe to re-cook my pancakes. I declined as I'd also ordered fruit and ate the bowl of fruit instead.

A beautiful hotel with well thoughtful, sustainable touches throughout. The breakfast was delicious both mornings and a real highlight. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The property was absolutely beautiful. The interior design and decor were stunning, with a very elegant and relaxing atmosphere. Every detail felt thoughtfully chosen and made the stay feel luxurious and comfortable. The location was also excellent and very convenient, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Honestly, very little to complain about. Everything was well maintained and enjoyable during our stay.

We were blown away by this hotel. Pool and gym were amazing. The food at the hotel was super impressive.
-
Loved the river view, the general vibe of the hotel, very woodsy and greenery to soften. Great location easy to get around.
-
Small foyer, lack of clarity around what was available and breakfast ordering. Little clarity around opening times of pool and restaurant-was not explained on arrival and check in.
