Castel Rundegg

The history and staying in a castle nearly 1200 years old. Very friendly and accommodations made by the staff. we felt special everyday - there are only 30 rooms which means it was relaxing. we were never rushed at a meal. They were willing to save our unfinished bottle of wine for the next dinner. Friendly staff everyday. Great local recommendations by the Manager David. We really appreciated being able to upgrade our room as it became available to the top king suite with a spiral staircase and 360 views- a highlight of our stay! Depending on your comfort level - there is Via Scena next to the property - at certain times was a little noisy. however we didn’t spend much time in the room.

A truly exceptional hotel and stay. Absolutely everything met or exceeded our expectations. Two pools, sauna, large rooms, incredibly friendly and totally professional staff. Breakfast and dinners were excellent. The hotel was an excellent value. The staff was very helpful with tips on activities, events, sights, etc. Nothing.

Castel Rundegg was wonderful in every regard. Based on our experience and photos, our adult children are hoping to go there. The staff was outstanding and a real joy; the hotel was beautiful, although we didn't use many of the facilities (e.g., too cold for outside pool). Dining was superb. We loved knowing we actually stayed in the oldest castle in Merano. The details of the house were amazing.

My friend and I spent a wonderful Christmas weekend in the Hotel Castel Rundegg! The staff is VERY helpful and friendly! The hostess showed us the most interesting hiking routes through the city, the host helped us with glasses for the wine we bought in the city, and they kindly helped us with late check in and check out! Breakfasts and dinners are spectacular in the hotel. I would recommend having dinner there, too! The rooms are clean and very authentic. They are large enough and have a lot of storage space. You also have a breathtaking view from the hotel's rooms and garden. BTW, the garden is outstanding! There are plenty of herbs and trees and flowers there. Gorgeous place!

Location, views, staff, facilities, architecture Something cooked for breakfast would have been a bonus.

Very very helpful and always willing to impart his knowledge of the local area. really enjoyed the outdoor pool which was very modern The weather was very hot and with the building being so old there was no air conditioning in our room. The manager was very helpful though and provided a fan

Lovely garden and pool, beautiful views. Excellent breakfast, great service. Loud road next to our room, no air conditioning.

Great building and very nice grounds/facility. With no air conditioning we needed to keep the windows open and unfortunately our room was on the side of a busier road with traffic noise at night.

We absolutely loved our stay, the room was great and the view amazing. The outdoor and inside pool and spa area were perfect after a day out in Merano area. Nothing, everything was perfect!

Amazing olde world charm but upgraded so nicely. The staff are attentive and the property really luxe and special. The outdoor pool is perhaps the loveliest I’ve ever seen. Great spa. Really everything was over the top good. We stayed here 35 years ago and it’s even better now. Nothing. All first class.

Perfect location to explore Merano on foot. Beautiful garden with lots of possibilties to relax and amazing outdoor swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff, made us feel very welcome and gave us fantastic tipps to spend our day. Showers in spa are old and unfortunately not really cold but ok.
