Holiday Inn Express Newport North - Middletown by IHG

Property is very conveniently located, within 10 minutes of Newport and close to highways. Breakfast and especially the coffee was great, although the same every day. Fresh ground coffee and lemon water available all day is a nice perk. Definitely not fancy but comfortable.

The breakfast was better than expected. Some fruits, yogurt, pastries, eggs, sausage, pancakes, etc. All of the staff seemed interested in making sure they were each doing their part to make the guests pleased with the facility. I would stay here again.

Very clean and centrally located to everything, shopping, restaurants and less than 10 minutes drive to downtown Newport. Breakfast was great; however it was the same every day, I wish they changed it a bit. Overall great stay.

Tracey at the front desk was superb and great to chime in with suggestions and assistance! The staff overall were very friendly and helpful. The facility was clean and conveniently located to a wide range of activities. We only ask that the smoke alarms be less sensitive to steam from showers. Otherwise, a wonderful stay with plans to return for future trips.

The was helpful but the some amenities was not standard qualify,especially shower was awful and breakfast items are are not enough and quality would be on guest expectation

The hotel was small and a bit older, but it was clean and well kept. My room was stocked with Dove amenities, a full-size ironing board and iron, plus a microwave and small fridge. The bed and pillows were comfy. Breakfast was simple but tasted good and was appreciated. It was all I needed for my stay. The staff I interacted with were all friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. The pool was small and too cold for my younger niece and nephews.

The coffee machines made a great brew, although I missed having a little coffee pot in the room, but the homemade cookies in the reception era were 5 stars!

Friendly and kind staff. We stayed in a room with king size bed and a couch and had lots of room. Typical hotel bathroom…snug but workable for two. Free coffee in the lobby 24/7! Would stay there again.

The room was great and so was the breakfast selection. The room had a slight smell when we first arrived.

Overall disappointing stay. The hotel reception and breakfast area were attractive. Standard Holiday Inn free breakfast but nice enough with ample food and good coffee. The lemon water in the reception was a nice touch. However, the hotel rooms and hallways are in serious need of major renovation. Our rooms wallpaper was peeling, the paint chipped and the sofa sagging. The mattress in the pull out sofa was old and unhygienic. The bath vanity appeared to be replaced, but the bathtub vinyl surround was likely original and yellowed with age. The room had a grungy feel and the carpet was dirty. I did not want to walk around the room in bare feet. Our room was not cleaned and fresh towels were not delivered during our stay. I resorted to using towels from the pool area. The “heated” pool was quite cold and my son developed an external ear infection from his 5 minute swim. The exercise room was small but the 4 pieces of equipment did work. I chose this hotel because of the price and the glowing 5 star reviews. However after staying here, it is apparent that the hundreds of glowing reviews are likely AI generated. Be warned.

Great hotel! We will stay here again! The suite was perfect for our family to have separate space when everyone was ready for bed but still wanted to have a light on to read or watch a movie and not disturb each other.
