The Montauk Soundview

The hotel is in a good location but unfortunately we would not return due to the walls being paper thin. You can hear your next door neighbour having a conversation inside their unit. On the Saturday of our stay there was a group who returned late from a night out and were yelling on the phone outside from 2 am - 3 am, we could hear every word of their phone call conversation. This kept us up and we ended up leaving at 5 am because we couldn’t sleep. The front desk attendant was nice when we checked in but there is no one manning the property late or early morning to manage issues. The interior is a bit dated but cozy, the bathroom and kitchen could use an update. We did find multiple bugs throughout our room.

This property was good. Will definitely be using it as my home away from home when I visit Montauk. A couple of things that would help to make it a better stay: 1.) wiping down dust in the cottages a little better 2.) steam cleaning sofa’s as they were a bit dirty to sit on (rug also) 3.) getting new mattresses as they were so squeaky 4.) having clean dishes for visitor’s (property noted that visitor’s are responsible for leaving the dishes clean which I understand, but NEW visitor’s should not have to clean dirty dishes that were left behind by the previous visitor’s). Thank you!

While the shower was nice; the best was pretty awful. We woke up with a sore back. The room wasn’t very clean. There was a mini infestation of ants in the kitchen. There were little water Beatles in the main room. The window AC unit is so old and loud we could hardly sleep. Plus it’s all or nothing. Freeze or sweat, hardly any in between. Would never stay again.

The rooms are tiny and outdated for the price

The stay a your facility was pretty much horrible and that's saying something since Ive travels thousands of time during my work career. So bad that I left after the first night and ate the $400+ for the second night.

Everything was perfect. Will definitely look to stay there in the future.

Units are quite close to each other and the beach is blocked behind a wire fence. To access the sound you have to climb down a trail that's Rick laden. With the close proximity to the other units it's not at all private. This is not clearly communicated to guests. Beware!

It was a relaxed, clean and beautiful ocean view room.
