just wish it had a gym or spa.

The HVAC system is seasonal and cannot be adjusted by individual hotel rooms, which can be a inconvenience depending on the seasonal temperatures. Commuter trains run frequently on tracks that are slightly elevated from the back side (city view) of the hotel, so the train noise is more pronounced on the back side. It is best to stay in a room facing the lake where the noise is not as noticeable.

Warm Minibar. City sid meas busy railroadtrack side. Durig the Jazz Festival very expensive for the room.

Our experience at Golf Hotel was truly exceptional. The hotel has an excellent location, right on the lake promenade and slightly off the busy center. The view from our upper floor room over the lake with mountains in the distance was breathtaking. The room was well equipped and clean. The lobby area was beautifully decorated. The staff at the front desk was outstanding. Right from the time we entered the doors we were given personal attention including allocation of the room with the best views. A big thanks to Aisha for all the care and support! In all our travels, I can safely say that this was one of the best hospitality display by the front desk staff. Some suggestions for improvement: the breakfast was not much to our liking in terms of variety and taste especially considering we preferred veggie food. The beds were overly soft and uncomfortable. Another thing: the city tax was considerably higher than other cities in Switzerland.

great choice for breakfast. Room size was great. The only thing that was lacking was extra fan due to excessive heat. Yes the property is very next to railway track. So it may impact your sleep.

For a four-star hotel, you would expect air-conditioning. The room was a bit oppressive even at night. You couldn’t open the balcony door until after midnight since the outside temperature was so warm. They gave me a fan which helped, but as with everywhere in Switzerland I stayed, I had to strip the sheet from the comforter. I don’t know how people in Switzerland sleep in the summertime with a down comforter over them and no air conditioning. The other thing I don’t like about Switzerland hotels, and I stayed in five of them during my trip, they are all the same, the pillows are inadequate. They use down pillows that collapse down to half an inch in depth when you lie on them. They give you two but even if you double up two of them, it still doesn’t help. I spent nine days in Switzerland and actually had to buy my own pillow from the store on the second day. This shouldn’t count against the René Golf hotel as it is a Switzerland wide problem.

The location was very nice and we enjoyed walking along the lake front to the casino area (to see the Queen Studio Experience and Freddy Mercury Statue) as well as to the Chillon castle. The beds were very hard and we had the unfortunate experience of train track repair both nights we were there- with a room right next to the train tracks. It was EXTREMELY noisy from about 10 pm - 2 am both nights. The trains themselves weren't too bad and the room was somewhat soundproof from that but the construction was horrible and we didn't get much sleep. We mentioned this to the front desk after the first night and were told it was very rare they would work on lines two nights in a row and they did not seem to feel bad at all. I know they weren't responsible for the noise but the hotel felt very empty so relocating us a little father from the construction would likely have been possible but they were fairly dismissive of the noise and not compassionate at all. We also weren't able to take even coffee back to our rooms from breakfast which I have never encountered before. Overall the stay was decent with the exception of the noise but I doubt I will stay there again should I return to Montreaux.

Location was the best for us. If looking for relaxing and calm place, this i highly recommend. ?? I requested for a room located on higher floors, which definitely we got. The view we had from our balcony was superb!!! All the staff from the reception till to the resto were all kind & very accommodating. Cheers!! In our room we didn't have an aircondition but electric fan was provided. Tho couple of days we stayed there the weather was comfortable, so we really didn't mind. The room was a bit outdated because of the interiors design. However, this does not change my view about this hotel. Still one of the hotels I would highly recommend, when in Montreux.

I didn't have air-conditioning.

The lighting on the hallway needs improved. It's dark and scary.

The A/C was so loud it was almost impossible to sleep We saw ants in the room and toilet

The hotel was a little away from all the hustle and bustle, so the location is quiet (except for the frogs at night). It’s clean, the staff superb, breakfast plentiful and only a short walk down a pathway with beautiful roses growing to get to the promenade along the lake. My room had a lake view. Truly I wish I could have stayed longer.

The location was amazing! Staff was very friendly and the amenities were great. Rooms definitely need an upgrade for the price you pay. Hallways creaked and smelled like smoke.
