B&B Guest House Du Lac

It was convenient: close to the promenade and most importantly to the 201 bus with direct route to Chillon and Vevey (including a station that didn’t require a hike). Breakfast was a buffet and excellent. Management was very helpful after the fiasco of their not having received messages sent through the Booking app saying our train was severely delayed and we would be 4 hours late. We received no information in advance with entry codes and had to call management. The room was extremely large, but the “private” bathroom was across a hall to which others had access on the way to the breakfast room. More important, one window was about ten feet from the train tracks with trains passing by very frequently even during the night. This building is historic and very quirky. Not for everyone!

The place was very comfortable and the staff were great. They worked hard to make sure the rooms were set up the way we needed for our group of 11 in 4 rooms. Two of the rooms were set up to have a shared bathroom with some unknown person(s), but it never presented a problem. The included breakfast was varied and satisfying. We left behind one item unintentionally and they called us and offered to bring it to the train station. That’s what I call outstanding service! No elevator and no air conditioning. The temps were hot this summer, but it did cool somewhat at night and the rooms fad fans.

I loved this place! Location was easy to access, it was clean and the beds were so comfortable.

The rooms were clean and comfy, the breakfast food was delicious, and the other guests were pleasant and respectful. No real complaints. Bathrooms are shared but just with a couple of the other guests. Couldn't quite figure out how to stream on the TV.

A good little place that met my needs

Shared bathroom isn't ideal but was not an issue at all. Was shared with 1 other room but only had to wait once.

Train passed by 10 meters from the bed (however, ear plugs covered the noise). Shared bathroom’s toilet wasn’t clean (someone had peed all over). We paid for superior room but I think we got the standard one. However, I was too tired to start the discussion around it and just accepted what we got. It was really hot in the room during the heat wave and no possibility to keep the window open due to the railway.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Perfect Stay! We stayed here for two nights and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The host was absolutely wonderful - kind, attentive, welcoming, and accommodating. We truly felt at home the moment we arrived. As a food lover, one of the highlights was the incredible breakfast selection. There was such a wonderful variety, including delicious homemade cakes and treats, and coffee was available throughout the day. Having access to laundry facilities was also a nice bonus. The location was great. The bus stop is right in front of the property, making it easy to get around. We loved being able to walk just a few steps down to the lake for a swim and enjoy the beautiful lakeside promenade all the way to the castle. It is also just 10 minutes from the city center, with its shops, restaurants, and the main train station. The rooms were beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable. The bathrooms were modern, clean, and beautifully designed. Everything was absolutely wonderful, and we would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

The Guest House DU Lac was a wonderful Swiss experience. The house was just steps away from the waterfront and a short bus ride (or moderate walk) from the the Montreux city center or the Chillon Castle. The Host was acommodating to our early arrival and helpful with the luggage. Finally, the included breakfast was WONDERFUL with fresh baked breads and pastries along with cheeses and cold cuts. Chapeau! The train tracks next to the Guest House were not a problem. The trains are very quiet and don’t run much in the night. The lack of an elevator was not really a problem, either, since the house has entrances on two levels.

Rooms were quite hot. We were right by the train tracks and there was no blackout curtains to prevent lights and sound from the trains coming in.

Perfect location, friendly staff, super clean, nice breakfast.

Wonderful spot to access all Montreux has to offer.

Really nice room, the host were really kind. This is not like a large chain hotel. I would recommend letting them know your arrival time in advance and keeping them updated if your plans change. The host were very accommodating, and it makes the check-in process much smoother.

The bedroom was small but comfortable. Comfortable bed. Clean Very good breakfast. The gentleman who was in charge was very nice. We didn’t enjoy having a shared bathroom a few doors. The rail line went right pass our bedroom. Which was noisy.

Very easy acces from rail station wit bus 201. Card for free public transport. Very close to rail track and consequently very noisy. The share bath for 2 rooms. No lift.

There is no private toilets for each room. It is too close to the train railroad and very loud sound can be heard.

We love its location. It is walking distance from the promenade, bus stop and train station. Thomas provided great customer service and very hospitable. He accommodated our late arrival due to our train being delayed. Squeaky floors since it is an old building. It did not take away from our experience though. We were just very cautious not to make alot of noise and respect the quiet hours.

A very good location, great walk to Chillon Castle, close tothe promenade and the Freddie statue in the heart of Montreux. A surprisingly good breakfast, a washer/dryer, and Thomas is very helpful. There is a train that goes close to the property. It didn't bother me but ear plugs are provided just in case.
