Villa Toscane
About Villa Toscane
Only a few steps from Lake Geneva, Villa Toscane is an Art Nouveau building from 1905 with a beautiful interior design. The rooms are decorated in a modern style with light colors. The building’s Art Nouveau architecture gives every room a unique charm, each one with its own particular features. Whether through its stonework, decorated ceilings or marble features, Villa Toscane will transport you back in time. All rooms offer the same level of comfort, but as Villa Toscane is a listed historic building, each room has its own unique character and layout. These variations reflect the heritage of the property while accommodating solo travelers, couples or families of up to 4 guests. Each room has a private bathroom with a shower or bath, a hairdryer and a welcome pack, a desk, a mini-fridge for personal use, a flat-screen television, a telephone, a safe, and free Wi-Fi. Guests also benefit from free use of local public transport by requesting the Riviera Card upon check-in. Check-in and the express buffet breakfast, consisting of bread, pastries, cereals, fruit juice and hot drinks, take place at the 5-star Royal Plaza Montreux, located across the street. Guests also enjoy unlimited complimentary access to the spa area and indoor pool at Royal Plaza Montreux. Parking is available on site, either indoors or outdoors, at the special rate of CHF 25.00 per night. There are also several offers on boat trips and excursions provided by the hotel. The room was air conditioned! Nice old room with high ceilings. It had a small fridge and very tiny bathroom. The hotel across the street is where breakfast is served. We ate on the patio, but the meal was not included. We paid 30CHF. per person,

Average fan to keep you chill with NO AIRCONDITION Great stuff Great free spa although it's in the across the road hotel Special old look Nice location near the lake and festival but on the busy noisy road Free breakfast is nice (bring bananas) No air-condition - don't come on summer! with cheap small fan (buy another 2 for each room for 100ch) No lake view and noisy busy road next to the hotel Top floor with no elevator (last floor on foot)

The location was good No air conditioning in one of the rooms of the Villa Toscane so they upgraded us to the Royal Plaza. We paid for the continental breakfast in our booking but it was very minimal so we paid 10 Swiss franc/person to upgrade. It was ok but not worth 30 Swiss franc which was the actual cost. The location was excellent. If you arrive by train go outside the train station and don’t cross street— take the number 204 bus and get off at the first stop which is right at the Royal Plaza-just walk 25 yards and cross the street. We didn’t know that and paid 20 Swiss franc for uber. The reception desk has maps and depending on the particular staff might help you find what you are looking for. Be sure and check the bill before checking out. They over charged me by 60 Swiss franc. But after pulling all receipts agreed to make a correction.

Air conditioner room and lift in the building Tiny bathroom with barely room to turn around, let alone hang your clothes or keep your stuff

Because it was red hot and a lot of Swiss hotels do not have air conditioning it was a bit repressive even with supplied fan.

It’s a beautiful old building. I loved the high ceilings in our room. The bed was very comfortable. Nice to have access to all the offerings at Royal Plaza across the street. The room next to us, their balcony was next to our bed and they sat up late each night talking loudly.

We did not end up staying at Villa Toscane after seeing the Royal Plaza Hotel across the street to check in for Hotel Toscane. We asked to upgrade & stay at the Royal Plaza instead & it was worth every dollar to do that. Royal Plaza is an outstanding property on Lake Geneva. I have no idea what the rooms at Toscane are like, sorry. We never entered the property

Even though we were across the street from the main hotel, location was great right on the lake easy walking distance along the lake promenade helpful staff The bathroom in our room was very small. We did have a balcony, but it faced the main street. Breakfast was not great not even good for the price we were paying they did have pastries which most of the hotels only had bread except for the ones in Italy

It was amazing stay Nothing

The lighting in the room was the best we have seen. Able to turn off all the lights from bed, night stand lamps very easy to turn off. Nothing to report.

I would like to thank the friendly and helpful staff. The fact that we were able to use the spa area of the hotel across the road was my son’s favorite part. The bus stop is very close to the hotel, and we had no problems with transportation.

I loved the pool and the room. It was comfortable and clean. I wanted to do laundry and there was a little confusion when I tried communicating this with the staff. I ended up doing it at home. This was the only disappointment.

Guest service was wonderful! The villa had old Hollywood charm, very spacious and the major items needed were available. None
-
The room was spacious and clean. Finishes are older
-
The rooms are a bit outdated, same for the facilities.
-
Room condition Breakfast. Not many kinds to eat.
-
Spa area was nice enough but very slippery from constant use. Be careful!

So it is a very cool building, definitely older, but in a cool historic feeling sort of way. You have to check in and park across the street at the Royal Plaza (I believe that's the name of the place). Room is no thrills but completely fine and clean and has everything you need. Great location near the historic Montreux area. Because it is managed by the Royal Plaza across the street, you can use their spa and pool facilities, which we actually did one evening and it was great. You park in their parking garage as well. Make sure if you come and go that you have them validate, don't pay the parking machine. This wasn't explained to me very well and I almost over paid big time for parking. It's $25 a day unlimited coming and going if you get validated at the front desk each time. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for an intersting and historic building in walking distance to all the action, without costing a fortune! Only complaint was that the parking and validating situation wasn't explained to me very well and almost over paid a lot for using the parking garage across the street.
