Do not stay here. Even though you're in a supposedly "upscale" part of town, you feel like you're in a very low-budget motel. The place is dirty, dingy, rundown and like it's not being maintained at all. I had to try my key 7-10 times each time to open my door. This was the tiniest hotel room for an average price I could ever imagine. Red Roof PLUS? WTH was the "plus"? They didn't even provide the basics. Gross place! They need to knock it down and start all over.

When we checked into the hotel the staff was rude and seemed annoyed that we were there. They were dressed very unprofessional and looked like they were lounging around at their house. When we walked into the room, the beds were not made up and the pillows were all on one bed. I pulled the covers back and found crumbs in one bed and we found feces and urine in the toilet. Went back downstairs to the desk to tell them, again, they seemed annoyed and they never apologized and looked at me like I was crazy. They never really said much, and she handed me another room key and told me which room to move to. The hotel itself was rundown and dirty. I paid $115 for this room that I shouldn't have paid more than $15 for. When checking out the next morning we walked into the front area and the attendant was asleep in the chair. We made a noise and she woke up. She adjusted her wig and looked at us and held out her hand, and we gave her the key and she never said anything. I do not recommend anyone ever staying in this hotel.

No breakfast Light above the sink did not work. I could not see to put on my makeup. The mattress on the bed was like sleeping in a hotdog bun. Very uncomfortable. The room smelled as if someone had puked. Upon investigating, the carpet on both sides of the bed smelled liked vomit. The water in the bathtub went out very slowly while showering. I stayed at this hotel a year ago and was pleased. This stay however lacked a lot to be desired.

There was a cockroach in the room and everything was old and dirty. Holes in the desk chair, dirty rugs and lighting was poor. I kept my shoes on the entire time I was there. I was only there a night and left early in the morning.

2nd room had an air conditioner that rattled constantly, had dead flies & palmetto bugs in room, no refrigerator or coffee pot as advertised.I called the office for an hour & no one answered. We spoke to staff next morning & was told housekeeping would be called to clean the room & shower curtain would be installed. We went out for the day & upon returning, shower curtain was installed but no one came to clean the 2nd room. When I inquired about no clean towels, I was told I had to make an appt with housekeeping to service the room. Was surprised because other Red Roof Inns were never a problem. This was the Inn in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

The exterior was looking quite good The room was dirty. There were hairs in the bed and on the pillows, the towels in the bathroom were dirty and stained and so it was the blanket on the bed. The furniture was old and ruined and the carpet on the floor was dirty. Above all, the whole room smelled like mould and was very humid. I felt so uncomfortable to breath that awful air that I checked out one day earlier and I moved to another hotel. It was the worse experience I had in my whole life (and I’ve been travelling for a long time).

The location was good When we checked in and got to the room there was no remote to the TV, The room was nasty and dusty, under the beds was trash and food, someone's underwear left under the air condition unit, and there were no toiletries in the room.

I liked that the roof didnt fall in while there Pictures online were nothing like what the room actually looked like. Door kept sticking to get into the room, we had to shoulder slam the door every time to get it to open. Every single day the key card disconnects and you have to go to the office to get it reset. They kept saying to not put it in wallets or near phones, so I kept it in my shirt pocket, yet it still happened. Person next to us had a huge dog that barked for a considerable amount of time and poop was left right outside the door. The roof was falling apart and flaking off, the furniture was clearly super old and falling apart. Parts of the floor and baseboards were coming up

Our room smelled like straight up funk. The walls had stains on them. There was a hole in the bathroom door. Stains on the sheets. Multiple hairs in the bathroom and I am bald… wack ass spider coming down from a hole in the ceiling. Dead bold did NOT lock. Had to barricade the door with all furniture in the room. Front desk people were kind. Would recommend if you are musty!

The location was convenient and made it easy to visit nearby attractions, including Patriots Point and downtown Charleston. The staff was courteous and explained that the room had been scheduled for cleaning and maintenance after another employee reportedly took it out and then back in service around 2:00 a.m, which coukd have been an accident. We appreciated their communication, and the location itself was the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the condition of the room was unacceptable and did not appear ready for guests. We observed roaches in the room, cigarette burns on the bed sheets, a sink that was loose and broken, a loose shower head, black stains and marks in the bathtub, dirty appliances, and overall poor cleanliness. We were informed that the room had been flagged for cleaning and servicing and should not have been occupied, but despite that, it was still rented to us in that condition. This experience was very disappointing, and I hope management addresses these issues to improve the quality and cleanliness of the property before assigning rooms to future guests.
