An amazing stay!!!! We will be back!!

I didn't like the fact that I had to pay for wifi, most resorts offer free wifi with your stay. The room and bathroom was so small and out of date, I will never stay there again. The only good thing was I could take my dog, and to be honest, that was the only reason I chose them, because of the pet policy. But I had several other options but with West Gate being a well known name, I thought the accommodations would have been better. You live and learn, and trust me I have learned, never again!

The facility was great, employees were very nice, woll be staying again.

Close to the ocean and love that they had chairs you could use to take out to the ocean.

The beach view was beautiful

Great location, amenities, staff, and cleanliness. My entire family including our newest member - a puppy - enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, Theo will over the 60lb dog limit when we return or we would definitely come back for another stay!

One thing to be aware of is the ocean-view rooms. We paid extra for an ocean-view room, and while we did have an ocean view, the balcony railing was so high that we couldn't comfortably see the beach or water while seated, which took away from the experience. Also, all of the ocean-view rooms overlook the pool and activity areas. As a result, if you open your balcony door between about 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., you'll hear the sounds of children playing and pool activities. That may not bother everyone, but it's something I wish I'd known before paying the additional cost for the view. Also worth noting: beach tents and sun shelters are not permitted on the beach. If you need shade, there is a beach attendant (not affiliated with the hotel) who rents two chairs and an umbrella for $50 per day. Despite those minor drawbacks, we had a pleasant stay and would consider returning.

Since my family usually travels internationally it was a surprise to us that ee would need to pay for a basic clean to the room, your front desk blamed this due to vovid, this is disengenious covid had been over with for 5 yrs.

The beach was nice

The overall stay could have been better if the smoking area wasn’t near the hotel entrance, their was a connection to the hotel from the garage, housekeeping came every day, more handicap parking and the store is open passed 4pm

Everyone of the staff were very friendly. The room was okay for a king ocean front but the coffee pot had to be moved because there wasn’t an outlet where it was whenever we arrived. They don’t offer housekeepers daily. Also they will not allow you to smoke on the balcony even though you don’t smoke with the sliding glass door open. I heard at least 15 people complaining about this issue and the issue of people who got a discount on their stay going to one of those time share things.

I don't understand the great reviews for this place but here goes... There are not 4 restaurants here, there is one and three places you can grab and go. We didn't get breakfast downstairs because it was blocked off every morning for the week with "private function" signs. We went down to the bar attached to the restaurant and there was never anyone there despite supposedly being open at 4pm. The doors to the restaurant were also locked. The poolside bar is the only place you can get a drink during the day if someone's working there. They push the membership part of it and seem only interested in selling you a unit. The pools are all long and narrow because they're squished between the building and the beach which means they're crowded. Everything closes at 10 so there's nowhere to hang out unless you travel somewhere else. The area is sketchy. We were told not to walk around at night by ourselves. There's a juvenile curfew at 9pm because apparently some were noisy, causing trouble and/or drinking without supervision in the past. There's no maid service unless you call 24 hours in advance. The nickel and diming with the bed service and "resort fee" was a bit much. We were among some late arrivals and the front desk stared at us like we were zombies trying to get in and eat them. It seems ok for families because of the amusement park and boardwalk nearby but not for a group of single ladies. The place just did not meet our expectations.

Pet friendly hotels should separate guests with dogs from guests who do not have dogs. We like dogs we just don't have one. The guests next to us had a small dog that barked all day and into the night. The guests left their room and left the dog in there all day and into the night. The poor dog barked all day and into night. We called the front desk twice to complain. Nothing was done the first time we called. We called again and they said they would contact the owners of the dog. The owners finally came back to their room at 12:30am. Dog barked, guests had raised voices arguing, television loud until 3:30am! Insane! We complained when we checked out. Front desk said Supervisor would contact us. Never did! Room small and in need of updating. Sliding door to balcony worn out. Tough time opening it. Bathroom tiny and worn. No place to put toiletries. Will not stay there again.

The beds were very comfortable The pools were dirty and small. Lots of trash.
