HI New Orleans - Hostel

I booked a private room. Water was not hot and soap wasn’t provided. The front desk doesn’t answer the phone and really could care less. When I asked about not having hot water the teenager at the front said “it’s because of the rain”. I was completely confused!!!!!! The lady from the back overheard this nonsense and stated I needed to let the water run for 15 minutes to get hot water. This was definitely a waste of money

The location was amazing, the property was clean, the atmosphere was great. I’ve stayed at many Hostels and this by far was thee best. The room I stayed in was very warm and that made it a little uncomfortable at bed time but everything else was great

Friends have been talking about this place for years and we finally stayed in a private room that was clean and inviting. The complimentary coffee was a pleasant surprise! We also appreciated the discount code to the closest parking garage. We loved supporting a nonprofit lodging option promoting tolerance and culture instead of a chain hotel.

I plan on staying again real soon. The beds in the dorm were comfortable and clean. The temperature was very cool which was nice after being in the heat. If I could give it an extra star i would.

Yes, no AC and the room was so hot I was sweating and when I told the front desk they forgot 4times when told them 4 times and called them but no answer

The whole building was clean and very inviting. The staff was helpful and went above and beyond when we had a delay in flight and had to leave our bags.

The property is very conveniently located on canal. They facilities were extremely clean and so were the bathrooms. I didn’t really interact with the staff but they were t mean or off putting. I stayed in the 4-bed female only dorm. It was freezing in the lobby and in the bathrooms. Like coooooooollllllddd

Hotel segregation. Normal hotels will place guest in dorms with people of mixed ethnic groups. I noticed I was placed in a room full of other Black women who were loud, rude and inconsiderate.

We had a great time before our cruise. This room had a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. It was great for us, since we had two adult children with us. The bunk beds were very tall.

Location is great. It is peaceful, quiet and still close to everything!

It didn’t seem crowded at all. It was cleaned around the clock. It’s not the property it’s some of the guests. They need to learn to clean after themselves. Leave the place cleaner than when you arrived.

Cleaned around the clock. Close to everything. Some tours pick up in front of building. No the property some of the guests can be nasty. They don’t ensure areas are clean for the next person. I always leave areas cleaner than when I got there.

The bed was very comfortable! I would not recommend the top bunk, if you are older than 20. The laundry room needs some way to track the people that are using the machines as the staff was not willing to manage taking out guest clothes when they were not prompt to remove from machines. Overall I would stay there again it was convenient. Bring a sleeping eye mask if you need a nap during the day hours.

I like that there was somewhere to eat that was right next to us. The location is awesome! And closed to everything. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I love that we had our own locker that we can only open and that the showers were private. I love that the public transportation was close by and useful. I didn't like that I could still hear the sirens outside the building. I can still hear people laughing and walking around in the hall. The bathrooms were taken for a long time creating a long line, so I had to wake up early to make sure to get a spot.
