Very unique layout. I am from New Mexico and it reminded me of local Pueblo with a mix of Japanese. Flower garden outside was peaceful and could hear ocarina playing from shop just down from the unit. Unit is only a block from old town. Check-in was onerous. We did not give them a time when we were arriving, so it took about 45 minutes when we arrived. There is no front desk and we had to use the Line app to get the code.

The location & the beautiful design & comfort None

Charmingly decorated B&B; plenty of space for a small group/family; located on a quiet street just off the Old Street The worst sleep I've had in ages - not a lot of sound insulation so every creak and groan from the outside was heard, the light display on the AC was obnoxiously bright alongside a window at the top that didn't have a blind; showerhead right in the middle on the bathroom so the room gets and stays wet when someone takes a shower

The place is lovely designed and decorated. Parking was a bit of a hike but understandable due to its location. Be prepared to walk up/down several flights of stairs with your bags. Distance to Jiufen old street is only a couple minutes walk. Very convenient if you want to spend the night in Jiufen.

It’s rustic and spacious, right in the midst of the old street of Jiufen The bathroom is a combined toilet and shower, so the whole area is wet after a shower. And we found a few critters in the room.

unique listing, a different feel for us who stays in city there are creepy crawlers due to the nature and there is limited assistance due to us renting the whole chalet.

Vibes were good and location is great. Breakfast was yummy. I booked for 3 beds and they only put out two saying we only have three people. Yes, but if you book somewhere stating it has 3 beds you expect 3 beds. I wouldn’t have booked it if I knew there would only be 2. We are adult siblings. There were dead ants all in the kitchen on arrival. The bathroom design isn’t good and leads to mold growth.

Amenities and breakfast were good. Overall we had a wonderful and comfortable stay. it was a bit difficult to leave the bags if you arrive in Jiufen hours before the bag drop or check in as there was no reception desk or office you can go to to leave your bags before checking in to explore the area.

The room is as shown in the pictures, very instagrammable. A lot of things are provided such as snacks, coffee (manually grind and drip), bathroom amenities, traditional foot spa and light breakfast. Location is just a few steps from the shopping street (around 1-2 minutes). Walking to 7-11 and family mart takes only 3-5 minutes so it's pretty convenient. Location is just a few steps from the shopping street but you need to take stairs to the location. This applies with lots of accommodations in Jiufen though. However, if there's senior, you should first consider this because stairs are steep. The staff is not that nice. On the day, we informed that we delayed because the driver just dropped us far from what we agreed but would still be in time. The staff continued to ask us too frequently about our location and how long we would take to arrive. I think it's because she just wanted to receive money and finish her work. The payment method is pretty confusing. The balance has been deducted from our card before the day. However, when we arrive, the staff told that that balance was not accepted and would be released a month later. On the day, we still had to pay in cash and card (through a link), so prepare your money. Also, the place sent us about the rules and some details about the place and additional service we can request. However, details of bathroom amenities were not provided, so I asked through the chat which amenities would be provided specifically and they just answered 'Please refer to the check-in information' and when I gave them examples, they just replied 'All are provided, and check-in information is explained.'. Then I just captured and sent them pictures of what are explained in the information to show that there were no details of the amenities but we did not receive any apology.

it's a literal 30 second walk to the old street. we needed a ride back to Taipei the day after and the owners also helped us to arrange it. note that jiufen is built on the side on a mountain. this means there are a lot of stairs. this includes going up to the bnb. it's maybe a total of 30 steps but it is mandatory.

The property is clean and well kept. It would be nice to have a kettle to boil water instead of just depending on the water dispenser. Will be better if the bathroom could have a separate or enclosed shower area so that the floor is not wet throughout the day.

It was really nice to have your own charming house right next to the Old Street. The place is nicely decorated and it’s very quiet around the house. It would be great if they’d provide umbrellas in the property, it tends to be quite rainy in the mountains. I’d also say it’s maybe a bit pricey for what you’re actually getting - I think you mostly pay for the looks.
