Hotel Shocard at Times Square

The hotel is very central to Times Square and you can hear quite a bit of street noise, however we were only there for 1 night so didn't really bother us too much. The adjoining hotel bar/ lounge does not look like what is represented on the website and doesn't open till after 10am and therefore isn't available for breakfast. On a more positive note, we arrived at the hotel earlier than check- in time and the receptionist moved us to a different room as ours wasn't ready, which we really appreciated.

The room was clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Clean, comfortable, hot water, perfect for stays workers are amazing and you get a free drink each night at the pub. The place was perfect thanks I’ll be back

When looking for hotel rooms, I was only looking for a clean room with basic amenities. Just somewhere I could sleep for 1 night. When I walked in the staff were professional and nice. They immediately gave me a voucher for a free drink and 15% off a meal. And then they also upgraded my room. It was honestly the cherry on top of an amazing first trip to New York City. I have zero complaints about my stay and definitely recommend Hotel Shocard for anyone visiting New York!

The place is gross

The hot water in the room did not work. The amenities were not great in the room. The room was small. The smoke detector in the room next room was going off. The phone in the room next door did not work. The staff was nice and polite.

Small, clean, close to theatre, bar and restaurant very nice ... would stay there again

The hotel is in a great location, but that's pretty much the only thing good about it. I've never seen a smaller room, it was like staying in a closet and the floor appeared dirty. Good thing we weren't there much. We had a very small window against a brick wall, so don't expect a view (we didn't so it was kinda funny). We tried to use the drink tickets but no one was there when the vouchers said they would be in the morning to get coffee. The hot water went out the second night so that was frustrating (and we had already showered the night previously so yes we knew how to work the hot water) which is what the front desk lady implied when we told her there was no hot water. I was like well there's no hot water in the sink either unless you think we are too dumb to work that faucet too? Anyway we won't be staying there again.

Location was amazing. there is no road / space outside for drop off and pick-up so we can drop or load our bags from the car.

Fabulous location! Our breakfast was unacceptable. My husband had lox, and the meat was not edible. My eggs Benedict had regular bacon that was not cooked very well, and was extremely salty. I will never eat there again.

This was a perfect little spot for a convenient and affordable stay right in the heart of Times Square. Surprisingly quiet and comfortable night sleep with no noise issues and blackout curtains for a good night’s sleep. Subway stations right nearby and a helpful staff to answer any questions and an Irish pub restaurant right downstairs. Only issue was the shower and sink water could run cold for a bit but if you let it run for a couple minutes it’ll eventually heat up. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Some of THEE most unfriendly front desk staff I had ever experienced. One person refused to even engage in basic greetings while coming and going. The room was VERY small. The AC/Heating unit was missing it's entire top grate. There was leftover remnants on the wall from an old thermostat. The carpet between the main room and the bathroom was coming up. The window shade was broken in the down position. There was no desk or chair...neither a desk chair nor a sitting chair. And the wifi signal was awful.

Very close to Time Square In the room It was very noisy from a ventilation system located outside the between the buildings, first night the window wasn’t closing properly. I have to call the maintenance team in to sort it out also the room it’s very very small you struggle to keep in the there a large language. The pictures are making the room to look much bigger and nicer that how it is in reality. I will personally, not stay there again I will prefer to pay $20 more per night to try something else.

Me pidieron un depósito de 150$ perfecto entiendo por seguridad, se suponían iban a devolver mi depósito y no sorpresa, hicieron un cargo extra de 160$ por que ellos cobran 32$ por nice extra cuando reservas con expedía, haber sabido reservo con, mejores hoteles que están en ellos área, me quedé acá porque quería conocerlo ya que conozco varios del área, y pensé en darle la oportunidad pero no súper mal, dicen que son cargos extras por servicio, nunca hicieron limpieza a la habitación en 5 días aparte de que la encontré sucia desde el primer día, además al pedirle al de la recepción donde yo mismo podría sacar mi basura mi miro con actitud y me dijo déjala adentro de la habitación, loco pero si no le han hecho servicio en 4 días hahah,

It was central to Times Square. Even though it’s was above a loud bar, we could not hear much other than the bass and even that was very quiet.

It was clean and friendly The rooms were extremely small compared to the advertisement on the internet

Excellent location, comfy bed, small fridge, nicely updated bathroom Carpet feels grimy.
