Great location. Amazing, friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable rooms.

Excellent hotel with staff that make you feel welcome. The decor and design in the hotel felt like a time capsule of a New York that is increasingly rare to find. Amenities were up to date, and rooms were well maintained. I recommend getting the breakfast included with your stay. The food was excellent, and the service by the waiters was as well. We will certainly be returning.

I found a hotel that remained out of shape and pretended to be proper. Not a good experience.

I have stayed at the Michaelangelo several times since May. I always find charges on my bill that should not be there. Aug 16th, I took my bf for breakfast at Carnegie diner. I was charged breakfast at the Michaelangelo for the same day. Why? I asked for special "something" for my bf since it was his birthday. They said they don't do that. So I said ok, let's forget it. 3 hours later, staff came to our room with 2 pelgrino waters and dried fruit/nuts. Hotel charged me when I said forget it. Being at this hotel is convenient and surrounded by all the things we love to do. Why add charges that should be on an invoice? Do you not want people that do not destroy a room. Our room had 2 chairs, no sofa. People next door smoking pot, stinking our room. People on our other side fighting. What happened to soundproofed room? Really disappointed on our stay this time. Staff was great. Hotel clean.

It should not score the rating it does as this.is disproportionate for what it is. I would say this hotel is in the mod to high 7s, absolutely no more.

The staff was extremely helpful, especially Tordoro, the daytime doorman. He was always kind and friendly. He smiled non stop and went out of his way to make sure my daughter and I knew how to get where we were going.

I always stay there

The Michelangelo is a lovely hotel oozing charm of a bygone era. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained. The staff is helpful and always pleasant. Ideally located for theatre goers.

Room 424 too much noise outside the room because the big AC fan.

Doormen Cesar and Tomsanan (sp?} were super friendly and helpful! Lightbulb in our lamp was burned out. Went to desk to get new one. No body lotion available per staff in pump containers (like hand soap, shampoo) in bathroom. Very poor drainage in shower. Called maintenance and they came and fixed it. Makeup mirror in bathroom could use a light.

I like this hotel; it’s my second stay. The rooms are huge, clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. The housekeepers were a bit loud, chatting outside our room, but that’s ok. They seem to enjoy each other and that’s always nice to hear.

We just completed a 5-night stay at The Michelangelo. The Good: the price was reasonable, the location is great, the room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable, we even had an 11-hour night for the first time in ages. The cleaning staff on the floor was very nice and efficient and the doormen were smiling and kind. The Bad: some wear and tear (for example, the corridor carpet on our floor was ripped at the seam), an understaffed reception (we could not get them to answer the phone to report a TV that was not working; the problem ended up being fixed by the cleaning staff the next morning), the bathroom products were average/commercial-grade, no coffee machine or kettle in the room (we were able to get a kettle on request).

Hotel overall is good but a little on the expensive side.

My only recommendation is to add streaming services to the TV. It’s something that should be standard in this day and age.
