Courtyard by Marriott Newark Downtown

Nice stay. Only issue was the claim of a “free” breakfast. Were told that morning to go to another area to “inquire how it works”. We skipped it. Free breakfast shouldn’t require additional explanation. Ask about this immediately upon check-in, if it’s something you’re interested in.

No resturant or bar. Staff rude.

Room was fine and beds were comfortable. We had a few odd issues that occurred during our stay. First was that before booking I called the property to determine if their on site parking could handle a vehicle with a trailer and was confirmed it would not be a problem. After check in found out we could not park there and spent 45 minutes trying to access another parking area. Second issue- The AC was really loud when running and clicked a lot. Third issue- the toiletries mounted in the shower were empty. Thankfully we had not counted on theirs and brought our own but it meant risking my life to walk across the slippery floor of the bathroom.

The property was close to the places I needed access to. Parking was tricky as the website doesn’t specify guests can park in the garage next door. Front desk was a long wait and never picked up the phone. So much trouble to connect to the WiFi. Overall an okay experience, but la king in the little details. To connect to the WiFi you need to join the Marriott Acct. Front desk staff never picks up the phone and always busy.

The breakfast was better than expected, the server was friendly WiFi was shockingly bad. Disconnected after 5-10 minutes every time. Reception could/would not book us a large taxi to the airport, told us to book 2 taxis..

the lady in charge of operations was unbelievable, she saved the whole trip front desk young lady, very unhelpful. the fact that to get into the hotel there was a need for security to open the front door if one has forgotten it's keys
