The Bay Inn

It’s not our first stay so we came knowing what to expect, the room is freshly renovated and kept very clean, it’s a very quiet place to stay and recharge in privacy. We are returning next time.

The air conditioning system was very loud and during the night would come on abruptly and wake us up. So needless to say, the sleep was spotty and not so refreshing. The staff was nice and helpful with those things they could affect. And the location was good, close to the beach.

The Bay Inn is always a treat! Always clean & quiet,so if you need a restful laid back place to be this is it!! Maintained beautifully, the ac is sublime! Very cool old school beach feel!]

Location excellent for business in ocean view section of Norfolk as well as for fun at beach! Difficult to control access of a fly or two because of beautiful interior lawn area. Rather have lawn and deal with pesky fly or two.

A motor inn style from the 60's but kept up to date. All rooms open into a courtyard. The owners live on site. A very safe place. The best part, the freezer in the mini fridge is separate and actually works. This place does not have the amenities of the big name hotels but at this price you shouldn't expect it. You get clean, no odors, no bugs, quiet and safe rooms at a great price.

I cannot rave enough about this gem. Every time my sister and I are in the Norfolk or Hampton area this is our choice for lodging. We know we can count on a smooth and swift check in, and clean rooms!

Staying here was a pleasure! From the owner being so helpful, to the walkable beach access, and the nearby food we were excited to find this hotel with also a good price. The room was clean and comfortable, the check in and out process smooth, and we liked the inner courtyard garden area. Will definitely look to book here again for future stays

While the hotel has an interesting mid-century look, the rooms themselves were nothing special. My room went uncleaned for several nights until I spoke to the manager. They have no airport shuttle, and there are few places within walking distance to buy food.

It’s not a large property and it needs an ice maker. But it was clean, quiet, and perfect for a quick getaway. It’s also well located for anyone who lives the beach.

Nice, quiet, clean room. No frills but the bed was comfortable. Could've used better water pressure but on the whole, a very nice single-night stay. Good wifi. When I had a receipt issue, they took care of me promptly and easily over the phone. Very pleasant staff. Would stay there again.

This was our first visit to The Bay Inn. Pleasantly surprised and very happy to have chosen this spot! Nick and his wife are wonderful, and The Bay Inn is a fantastic spot! Imagine a typical resort town motel with an inner courtyard that has up to date rooms and amenities. Modern tile in the bathroom, great water pressure, backlit mirror, large mini fridge, powerful AC, firm comfortable bed, clean fresh linens and towels, and plenty of space for all your bags and stuff. Planning to visit Norfolk again - especially the Botanical Gardens. Walking distance to a nice diner also, and not far from anything else you need. Recommended!

Parking was limited and late arrivals can be tricky. But overall great motel

Close to the water and decent price. Mostly clean - did have a small roach on the shower. WiFi was not good - had to use my hotspot to work

The owners who are also the staff are friendly, courteous and very accommodating! Rooms are clean, modern with plenty of free parking. The beach, restaurants, supermarket, gas station and highway are all nearby.

I would recommend this property 100%. 10 out of 10!!!!!!!

Beautiful and helpful staff!

We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The place has a beautiful courtyard and the owner and his wife were very friendly!
