Lovely staff, excellent location, comfortable rooms

Staff was extremely nice and spoke English very well as someone who isn't that great at Japanese. Check in process and Check out process was super simple and easy. I had no problems with the facilities or the location. Everything was nice and safe. I like how they lock the main door after midnight and you can only open it with a key card from your room. Everything was pretty much walking distance or a few minutes driving. Overall, I enjoyed my six nights here, and I would 100% stay here again. Compared to other hotels that I've stayed at in Japan. This hotel was Very Much self serviced since the office is on the second floor. You don't say hi to staff as much as you would with other hotels which has it's pros and cons. I feel like I did get helped out a lot more and greeted as well when I was staying at other hotels compared to this hotel, but that didn't ruin the experience I would definitely still stay here 100% again.

Comfortable, cool and good location. Nice to have free beverages in the lobby and a good easy to operate guest laundry. Nothing really about the property, but an international school basically took over the lobby area. Not much breathing room or peace and quiet with them all there

Great breakfast buffet, more Chinese-leaning with assorted siu mai and congee, some western staples like bacon and scrambled eggs, toaster ovens for croissants and baked goods. Rooms were spacious, hotel was close enough to shinsaibashi but far enough to be quiet. Housekeeping left parts of the room (especially above and in between sliding door) dusty, halfway through the stay they swapped the bed pillows and it smelled like body odor or mildew, even after asking for a new set. Not sure if it’s where they were stored or cleaned, but it took a 3rd set to fix the issue.

I loved my stay at Miyako City Hommachi — genuinely one of those hotels that makes you wonder why it isn’t talked about more. First off, everything is spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed. The room size is surprisingly generous for Osaka, which already sets it apart from many city hotels. Plenty of space to actually open your luggage without doing a Tetris routine on the floor. The bathroom —easily one of my favourite parts. Modern, well-laid out, and just the right balance of functionality and comfort. After long days out (or in my case, after finishing the Kumano Kodo!), it felt like such a luxury to come back to. A huge shoutout to the staff for accommodating early check-in. After days of hiking, that simple gesture meant everything. The rest/lounge area— perfect for unwinding, having a quiet moment, or just decompressing before heading back out. It didn’t feel like an afterthought at all, but a genuinely inviting space. Also, very impressed with the self-service luggage area — tons of space, super practical, and easy to use. It made managing bags completely stress-free. The location is super convenient, making it easy to get around Osaka without the chaos of staying right in the busiest districts. Overall, this place hits that rare sweet spot of clean, comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and genuinely welcoming. Would 100% stay again — no hesitation. Nothing!

The Miyako City Osaka Hommachi is located a short walk from Dotonbori and the Hommachi subway station. It offers guests a comfortable lounge with free coffee, tea and soft drinks, and beer and wine for a small charge. The breakfast buffet is extensive and includes cereals and breads for those wanting a Western breakfast. Nothing

Excellent location, just a few minutes from the subway. Room is a typical Japanese size but with very rational design. Comfortable beds and plenty of accessories in the bathroom. Very good buffet-style breakfast. Excellent stuff at the reception (helped us with sorting out our luggage transfer between cities). Overall, we enjoyed our 5-days stay in this hotel. Nothing

Good clean room that was quiet, nice staff and good food, free breakfast, large common area.

The staff welcomed us when we arrived. Very small room if you have more than 1 suitcase, far from the city center, there is no room service, the bidet had a sewage smell (so I didn’t use), and my husband’s gripe was that there was only one nightstand. The other side of the bed is flush to the wall so he had to plug in everything on my side of the bed, which sounds ok but inconvenient if you want to keep your phone and charge it or have water by you. Compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in Japan, this was the smallest and least convenient hotel. When we asked to upgrade to a bigger room, there were no available rooms until our last night and even then, it was only a few feet larger. We were here for our 10 year wedding anniversary trip, and provided a little, impersonal note in our room, whereas other hotels in similar price range has given cute little Japanese bags, chopsticks, champagne, etc and acknowledged such upon check in. Not a big deal but indicative of the service you will receive. The bare minimum.
