Lovely, quiet location. Late check in process was simple with a lockbox. Parking was free and easily accessible. Will stay again

the chairs in the kitchen up stairs make noise, especially at night and early morning, disturbed our sleep. Felt should be put on the chair legs

We have been coming to Monterey for years, This visit by far exceeded our expectations! Front desk lady was so excellent. She cared about everything to make sure our stay was excellent. The associates cleaning rooms were excellent. We just loved our stay. Pacific Grove has so many fun things to do and downtown area was so much fun. Thank you for making our visit perfect!

    Great place

We had such a wonderful stay! The room was very clean. We were traveling with our large dog, room was a good size and fit her large crate comfortably. Would definitely stay again! Location is great, neighborhood seemed safe to walk our dog. Parking was easy, right in front of your room. Staff were all friendly and welcoming.

The room was clean and had a good layout. Parking was convenient. Should stock rooms with Kleenex.

Well maintained smaller older property. Everything was clean. Down side we got back late & had to park on the street. The bed was also squeaky.

Great location within walking distance but due to car week~ the room rates were as high as a coastal ocean view room but the amenities were still motel like- weak WiFi, no conditioner or lotions, no EV charging, very thin towels, no room service etc- value was not there

We stayed at the Inn during the Monterey Car Week, which we were unaware of when we booked-so the rate was twice as much as usual. In our opinion, the Inn is not a $300 a night room-$150ish seems about right. Staff was nice but desk (with complimentary coffee) did not open until 9am. Room had a microwave oven, mini refrigerator, and a coffee maker-but the in-room coffee brand was horrible. Shower had hot water (very hot water-be careful) but the shower head was for someone 5 foot 4 inches. Lighting in bathroom was good but was poor in sleeping area. Bedroom had a small table and 2 chairs- which was a big plus. The bed and bedding were comfortable. Jacuzzi was nice-but looked a little tired. Outdoor seating areas were fine and a nice escape from our dark room. Location was great! Walking distance to downtown and shoreline. Inn caters to dog owners. We are not dog owners.

    Would stay again.

Loved the location and kids loved that its was a motel style where you park in front of your cottage and hang out front!

A real dump. Bed was uncomfortable, Wifi is almost non existent. Jacuzzi looked like it needed a new coat of whatever they put in there. Not many receptacles in the room. But I guess that isn't that important as I could barely keep logged on the wifi with my phone, my I pad would not connect at all.

The front desk is only open from 9am-9pm. Outside of those hours there is no staff available except for a phone number for emergencies. If you need anything else, you have to wait until 9. I tried calling multiple times before arrival to adjust my reservation (including well after 9am), and nobody ever answered the phone or returned my voicemail. I had to go to the front desk in person when I arrived in town, by which time it was too late to change my reservation. There is also a surprise credit card processing fee if you pay at the property. I did not see this disclosed anywhere in the booking process. It ended up costing me an extra $25 more than what hotels.com showed my total "with taxes and fees" would cost. Overall the motel was adequate but unremarkable. It was cheaper than most other options around when I booked, but the amenities were very minimal relative to the price. There are other inns and motels in the area that look like they might provide better value if they're available.

cottage has 2 beds, a walk through with a counter, fridge and microwave, then a bedroom with another bed with the bathroom. No lock on the bathroom. Two tables outside inbetween the cottages. The other standard rooms look like the windows have been updated and the handicap cottage looks updated as well. The other 3 cottages have the old windows. I did notice another cottage had curtains inside so just know the rooms may not be consistent with this review. Very uncomfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom was crusty around the baseboards. Good water pressure though. Honestly it’s mixed. I give it a 4 star because the staff was so friendly and it was overall clean. The office has coffee and better creamer than the rooms. Not a horrible stay but I wouldn’t stay again for the price we paid (I guess we went during the car show whoops) or if there was another option for somewhere else. If you’re not picky and just need somewhere to sleep or need a big room, it’s fine.

The room was sub-standard. The bed was extremely lumpy and you could tell it hadn’t been replaced in some time. The overall state of the room was run down and could use updating. The linen was poor quality and uncomfortable. The shower head was in a bad state, water sprayed out from the seal. The water was very hot (which I prefer). I wanted to use the bathtub as I brought soaking salts, but I didn’t feel it had been properly cleaned/ scrubbed. I used the hot tub on the property but it was not hot, I’d say like warm. I would likely not stay at this property again or recommend it. The location is really the main draw, which is why probably why they remain in business. For the price, it definitely did not live up to expectations. The neighboring room’s occupants also drank beer and chain-smoked immediately outside of the room, blowing smoke into my room and neighboring rooms, since they are in such close proximity to one another.

Very comfortable ... great location for quiet and close to ocean while still close to downtown.
