Grand Hôtel du Bel Air

Excellent location - right by the Metro with multiple lines running through it. It was also a lovely neighbourhgood itself with plenty of shops/boulangeries/supermarkets etc. Very helpful staff. The rooms are a little tired, as are the towels/bedding. but they were clean and excellent value for money. We would choose to stay here again for the location, helpful staff and the price.

Good location - fairly central with easy access to major sights and near a metro station. Slightly better quality than other cheap hotels in Paris. One of many small, slightly dowdy hotels in Paris. Rather stuffy on a summer evening in the midst of a heat wave. Very small bathroom with no separation between shower and toilet area.

Good stay if you won't spend a lot of time at the hotel, beds are comfy and clean. They also had a nice fan which helped with the hot days. The shower door was a little broken, you had to be careful with it.

Exceptional

The pictures are misleading. The rooms are so small that you could get claustrofobia from staying in. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, the rooms are dark and depressing, the furniture is old and ugly, even the bathroom mirror was broken and placed so low only a child could see themselves in it. The AC unit is installed right on top of the bed, so the cool air blows directly onto your face/head/body and is hard to tolerate. On the other hand, without the AC on, in the month of July, the room becomes an oven in minutes. Absolutely horrible experience. I would give it zero stars if it were possible. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Everything. Almost nothing was good. The towels smelled musty and they barely have us any toilet paper.

The room was cleaned daily. There was no AC. AC would have cost 8 EUR per day extra. Staff was friendly. They even tried to get my room ready sooner as I had arrived from the US and was super tired from the trip. I really appreciated that. You can borrow a charger for your phone at the reception. There was nothing I didn't like. The staff was great. They were friendly and I had no issues with anything. The stairwell is really tight but there is an elevator.

An excellent location and helpful staff The room was a bit tired, they could do with investing in some new towels etc for example.

It was overall a decent stay. The staff was helpful and I had good value. The Air Conditioner in my room had water leaking out of it, creating a pool in my room. There appeared to be staircase above my bed so I had to be really careful not to hit my head against it.
