Hôtel Meslay République

This place has a lot of potential well situated we did a lot on foot - we walked to la bourse de Paris the financial center and visited some popular site. Metro two minutes away and lots of eatery. Bathroom decent and clean and bed was ok additional pillows were available and nice enough view. If you are doing a quick one night or two it’s ok. Not recommended for longer stay. The only thing this place has going for it is the location - no AC, extremely thin wall, old smell most likely from carpet and old curtains place need urgent update. The bathroom is decent. Hard to sleep at night although the neighbor spoke normally on the phone in his room we could hear his entire conversation like he was on the bed with us. Lucky for him he spoke Italien so he got some privacy. So could not sleep until he ended his calls to family until midnight. Room hot and humide- opening window can help but street super noisy. For the same price can find better. Room need update and the no AC in the summer should be double highlighted.

The hotels is close to the Republic square, all public transportation is available in the vicinity. Usually hotel provides complimentary water for the quests, I didn’t see that, although tea and coffee bags were there. Another thing, you have to leave key of the room at the reception every time you leave the hotel.

Good location with metro station near by and several metro lines available. OK neighborhood which is safe to walk around. Room only partially resembled the ones shown on pictures yet were clean and did offer some comfort and rest. Breakfast is a personal thing. In our case - it didn't worth it, especially considering the price. One could buy better quality fresh croissants/coffee in the nearby bakery for substantially less (truly whish we did that). Main concern - in addition to well expected room and breakfast charges we were also charged additional fairly high card TPE in the amount of 46.12 EU. According to the person performing our check out this amount represented card transection fee which really didn't make too much sense, since our Chase Sapphire Reserve card notably has no transection fee anywhere in the world. We still believe this was overcharge...which leaves quite unpleasant after taste.....

Very welcoming, friendly and caring staff! The room was comfortable and well equipped for a short stay, it’s ideal.

Location perfect. Breakfast very good. Staff so nice. Lovely old Parisian hotel and very clean. Noise outside.

Location is a plus and the staff is extremely helpful and professional. I like the hotel and I will stay there again but the fact is that my rooms was very basic, no decoration

Med at the front desk was great, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was awesome, plentiful. Walk Rue de Temple to Notre Dame.

Very good location with busses and metro right at the doorstep. Beds were very comfortable and the shower was very nice. It was very clean and our room was made up every day. Staff were nice and friendly. Price was reasonable too. Property decor is very outdated and is in need of a big refreshing facelift. The reception area is very old and tired looking and all the interior is outdated.

Front desk staff The room phone did not work. Street noise was annoying.
