The place is not up to European or USA safety standards. All this means is be aware of your surroundings and don't expect hand rails everywhere.

Friendly and happy staff , almost welcomed and clean. Love the place and visit every time I’m kn Bali It’s all fine consider the fact it’s above the cliff so there are monkeys , steppy road and hunks on the seaside

The on-site staff was amazing! Very helpful and cooperative. The food was amazing too. Ants in the bed. We found them every morning. Little pieces of wood falling off too from the ceiling (probably termite damage). Also, lot of stairs to enter and exit the hotel. Entering is ok because you’re climbing down, but exiting is hard. You’ll pretty much want to plan your days in such a way that you don’t have to leave the hotel twice (we didn’t like that).

The view from our room was marvellous, the staff and the breakfast was very good, it has basically private beach :) we stayed for 1 night and it was very relaxing but wouldn’t stay here for too long The route to the hotel is not very nice and the electricity was off for a few hours and there is nothing nearby so prepare to order food there or via app :) Definitely not 4 star hotel that is why 8/10

Bookings.com The pool is too small but my son still had the best time.

Such a lovely tucked away cosy spot. We saw the most amazing sunsets from here. Our room was large and comfortable, with amazing views. We loved sitting on the terrace, reading books and watching the different shades of turquoise. The room and bathroom were simple but absolutely good enough. The bed was comfy. No mosquitos! And was amazing to sleep with the sound of the waves. Also really enjoyed the many small nooks created around the hotel.. different benches, seated areas. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Nothing! Totally worth the 90 steps down and honestly you get used to them after day 1. Takes care of your gym goals for the day ;)

Amazing location staff and vibe

The proximity of the ocean, attentive staff The was no warning that the hotel has no regular mobile coverage and guests must rely on the wi-fi, which happened to be broken when I checked in. Once the wi-fi was restored - the signal was very weak. The breakfast was mediocre, and there is no pool for hot days. The AC in the room was barely cooling it even when set on the minimum temperature, and the room temperature was hot and uncomfortable at all times and particularly during the night, making it difficult to sleep. The bed had no blanket, presumably due to staff's knowledge that it would be impossible to sleep with the blanket anyways given how hot it was all the time.

Rita the best person there

The location! Stunning views, so close to the sea and lovely rooms The hike down to it, lots of steep steps, a bit dangerous with wet leaves on the steps and mud. I absolutely loved the close proximity to the sea but the waves are also very loud so sleeping was tricky, take ear plugs!

The location was exceptional! We stayed at this accommodation about a year ago and loved it so much that we decided to return. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to our previous experience, mainly due to interactions with staff that felt unwelcoming and at times rude. After our stay at Rock n Reef, we visited other villas in Uluwatu and were met with much warmer, more polite service, which highlighted the contrast. We hope this is something that can be improved in the future, as the property itself has great potential and we truly enjoyed it on our first visit.

View A few safety concerns (stairs)

Kind staff! STAIRS. Monkeys, layout was difficult to navigate on the side of a cliff. Cleanliness could be improved. Cost was high in comparison to our hotel in Ubud which was nicer and cheaper.

The way to the hotel was a little bit rough and uncomfortable specially because we arrived at night, otherwise the staff and the hotel is very lovely and their food is good

The view is incredible and you can’t beat being steps from the ocean. That’s the best part of this place. Accessibility to surf is unparalleled. If you wanted you could paddle down to Padang Padang. Unfortunately those were the only good qualities. (1) Air conditioning barely worked and Uluwatu is a very hot and humid place. (2) The shower drain was clogged and the smell of sewage would come up into the room. There is also absolutely no hot water. (3) There was a hole in the bathroom wall that would go up into a table in the common area so they get to enjoy all the sounds and smells of the bathroom. This is their solution instead of a bathroom fan. Not to mention since it’s a literal hole in the wall ants were coming in through it. (4) The bed was very uncomfortable. Hard mattress and flat lumpy pillows that came with many stains on the pillow cases. (5) The steps to get up and down are extremely steep. I would only stay here if you are in extremely good shape. Stairs aren’t usually a problem but they are narrow, steep, can get muddy, and the signage is almost non-existent so it’s hard to tell you’re going the right way. (6) people will shine flashlights into your room from the water or when they are fishing next to your hotel room at night time (7) We left our booking 1 day early and the staff did not question it and did not care. They did not offer us a service to bring our bags back up. I think they bank on people leaving early to make more money. Service and a general care about you as a guest is the least of their concerns. In conclusion this place is more of a surf hostel than a boutique hotel. If you want gorgeous views at the cost of comfort and hospitality this is your place. If you are looking for comfort and service I would suggest staying at a nicer place. You can stay at a 5 star hotel for the same price and just get a Gojek into town.

Nothing Don’t be fooled by the pictures. Outside view is decent though the way the balcony is set up prevents you from actually enjoying it, rooms are outdated, lack of security for the rooms, and rooms were not clean over all. We ended up checking out within 3 hours of checking in and booking a different hotel.

The location was amazing and the architecture was unique. We loved the common space area and the different options of table setting they had to offer. We also loved that you can walk along the coast all the way to padang padang beach. You can also walk the other direction to enjoy a different view and walk. The only issue was the price per night. It was a bit expensive. Everything was amazing and made it worth it at least.

It has a good view but there are better places around here. If you’ve stayed at good places you wouldn’t like it here. You’ve to wait 10-15 minutes outside Antara once youve called them to collect your luggage. Its an old property. Rooms had smell, no air fresheners in room for it. The hotel manager never responds to your messages. Average food options. Room had no basic amenities at all. No mineral water available at restaurant. They only provide filtered water. You have to go to reception to ask for things, no telephone.

This location is jaw dropping beautiful! Located on a cliff overlooking the sea. Waking up to the sound of the waves and watching the surfers was a highlight! The food was prepared by a small friendly staff. Delicious. A real small business feel. The room was glorious with windows floor to ceiling and typical Balinese decor. Highly recommend for those willing and able to climb many stairs to and from the hotel. Worth the efforts of getting there!
